DAngel Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Hello guys! I decided to share my progress in the armor. Yesterday we had event where I tested some parts of the armor. I still need: - finish the collar (I want to sew a new collar) - replace the elastic on the sides of the chest armor on the slings - create TD - 2 more rivets on boots - make "jaw" on the helmet - replace silver screws on the helmet What are the problems I faced: 1. It seems to me that the helmet is pretty low. Or it normally looks in proportion? If not, then I'll add foam to the helmet. 2. Pouches. I am a supporter of functional clothing. Therefore, in addition to foam, I would like to carry something in my pouches. But found that the pockets are beginning to sag. Maybe make an additional Velcro? Thank you!
jyjellyfish77 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Looks good! I'd move the thigh boxes back a little so their more even, front to back. I carry my iPhone in my pouch and sometimes my wallet in the other. I wouldn't carry much else unless I was at a con and really needed it.

My pouch couldn't carry my Lumia and started to sag =/ I'm trying to realize what to do. Fabric is thick. Pouch holds by one velcro that is sewn to the back of the cummer.
Chex Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Since you have those flaps coming up from the pouches, those should velcro up under the chest armor and hang down since you have them. Your riding patch. Could you post a pic of the back of your suit with the suede flap lifted up. I'd like to see your inner thigh suede. Justin hit on the hip boxes. Def wanna even those out on the hips so that they aren't riding too far forward. Looking good though! As for the bucket, you might just need to pad it more so it doesn't sit all the way down. They can tend to do that on short troopers.
bjsavage7 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Agree with Chex. Also, you can put a screen-accurate hard-hat liner in your helmet to make it sit right on your head.

Guest hel0wrench Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Griffin and Chex hit the points right on. The helmet looks real low on your frame. All around it looks like it's real close to perfect.
