Darth Voorhees Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Just finished this up and just wanted to show everyone. Im not going to lie, this helmet is not simple to put together, and i had a few hiccups along the way, but it was all resolved and in the end it came out awesome. Im VERY happy with this helmet ...id recommend it to anyone! The Snout is one of mine. It was actually a test one cast in a grey resin i custom mixed white and black pigment into the resin. The "hook" decal is one of mine also. The rest of the decals are LW. LW's hook is actually just fine, but i wanted to use one of mine, cuz well, i make them lol. I also installed the helmet liner, which also needs to be modded to fit into the helmet properly. I will post a how to of that soon. Im using the real 3m bolts in grey as well. I also have magnets locking the face down. 1
Darth Voorhees Posted September 8, 2013 Author Posted September 8, 2013 Thanks Guys! It was not easy getting it together, but SO worth it!
Darth Voorhees Posted September 8, 2013 Author Posted September 8, 2013 Thanks John, and yes, i am VERY happy Thanks Nate!
Guest SUP_Ronin Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 That looks really nice. The lines all look good & I like the light weathering.
TheRookie Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 By the way, how'd you do the scuffs? paint, or did you actually scuff it up? Stupid question.
Darth Voorhees Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 Thanks SUP_Ronin Never a stupid question Nate... Its acrylic applied with a chip brush (house painting cheapy brush) and a touch of what they did for the screen used, which is spray paint...i used my go to weathering spray paint, Krylon black primer
TheRookie Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Thanks . For the spray paint, did you tape up where you didn't want the primer and held the can far away to give it that look?
Darth Voorhees Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 nope no taping off..just spraying from a distance
TheRookie Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Ok thanks, so if I ever weather my helmet, (I don't know if I'd want to ) I know what I need
Dart Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Nicely done! Looking forward to the day where I can get my head into one of those fine buckets!
