Modding the Rubies Helmet

So I'm making all of my armor pieces from scratch, aside from the helm. I'd love to build a mold some day and make my own, but for now, I'm sticking with the Rubie's piece of garbage.

But I'm curious if there's any other folks out there that can lend a word of wisdom to tackling this monster.

 

Also, I'm contemplating using that helmet, once modded correctly, to actually make a new mold to vacuumform more. Does anyone have any experience doing this?

I saw one of those helmets on eBay and was shocked to see it was even licensed. But after seeing its conversion - I'm impressed!

 

Best of luck tackling this if you go ahead with it. I would be awesome to see someone do it!
