I don't want any other reference material, just a screen grab from the film. Or a rough time frame, so I can search the online archive. Many thanks Rob. The point being, on everyone who I see with a chin cup, they are blindingly obvious from all angles when worn. Because they drop down past the lid. I've never seen it in the film. bjsavage7 Posted July 18, 2013 Share Posted July 18, 2013 I want to say you can possibly see the very bottom of a cup for a brief moment, on the scout who battles Han, right when he tells his partner "Go for help! Go". I can't find a screen shot of it though. I think the actors actually did wear them on screen, since all they had in their helmets were hard-hat liners. The ROTJ TKs had a very similar set-up & wore a chip strap. I know I've seen a behind the scenes pic somewhere of the actors lifting up the face plate between shots of the speeder bike chase. I believe you could see the chin cup there. Sorry, I have no idea where that pic is posted now. I also believe (and I could be wrong) that the screen-used helmets were a bit larger than the ones commonly trooped in, like KS or MLC. (bottom of the chin/neck area), but you can't see any white chin cup. And at no other point in the film do you see one. Similar to the many details underneath an imperial officer costume that nobody need ever bother with, but were there. Hard to see if it's really just the guy's chin, but it looks like it is, in compairisson to the white armor. Then again, there is an amber shade there that matches the visor lense. Perhaps a slight glare from the inside of the helmet is making it appear to be skin-colored. Or...it could be just his chin. I dunno.
