trimming plastic

Hey guys I just gt my armor Friday and I was wondering what tool I should use to trim down some of the pieces

Lexxan scissors are great to cut with. A hobby knife for finer work maybe.

 

And congratulations for the armor! Can't wait to see some progress :-)

Regular scissors I think are hard to use, Lexxan scissors are used to trim RC bodies, they're sharp and they're short and you can probably pick up a pair for around $4-$5 (I checked quickly on ebay). They're also a bit rounded so it's easy to adjust while cutting.

Hi and great to see, that you´ve gotten your armor

 

I used a normal but sharp kitchen scissor for my armor and did the adjustments with a hobby knife + fine sand paper to finish it of with. - guess you more or less can use, what you have at hand.

 

But if you want to make more armors, perhaps it would be a good idea to get those lexxan scissor, that Patriks talks about

Curved Lexan scissors are the best. Lots of leverage to cut through 1/8" ABS plastic like swiss cheese.

Check if there are any local shops selling radio controlled cars, they might have them.

Lexan scissors are easy to pick up on EBay, I have both a straight and curved pair.

I used Xacto knife for most of the trimming, but found I can be more precise and go faster with a dremel.
