Guest Manbrolorian Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Finally getting started on my TB. I wanna start with something really easy, so why not gloves? I'm going to be using these as a base; http://www.ebikerlea...rap-lining.html And modding them, using this picture as my reference; http://prophetsblog....rs-biker-scout/ If you guys have any suggestions, or helpful tutorials, I'd really appreciate them. Thanks!
Southscout Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Vicky did some modifications on hers, so could be worth to check out: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10573&st=0&p=89299entry89299
Guest Manbrolorian Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 PLOT TWIST. I got these gloves, instead. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Dutch-MILITARY-Motorcycle-BLACK-LEATHER-GAUNTLETS-Gloves-NEW-/370789113797 It looks like all I need to do is take off one of the bands, remove the straps, and add the V stitching. Easy peasy.
Chunk Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Those look alot better than the first pair. Didn't know how you were gonna mod that horizonal zipper.
NegativeEleven Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 I got lucky and found this pair on eBay: Here's how they turned out: I'd love to tell you how I modded the wrist part, but I just paid a friend $25 to do it. She's got an industrial sewing machine and has worked with leather before. I know the suede is just glued down with E6000.
Guest Manbrolorian Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Okay, they've arrived! The gauntlet part is a little big on my arm, but I think that when I get my flight suit, they'll fit a little better. Unfortunately for me, the gloves have six bands. Any suggestions on how to remove/replace them with the required four? Straps. These suckers have to go. All-in-all, these are really good gloves, and I'm happy with my purchase. I'm off to do a little research, now.
