Pm sent.

The drop boxes are quite high, as an average measurement the webbing length should be no more than 3" either side of the quick clip both front and back. Distance from main plastic belt to top of dropbox 2" -3" approx.

However this will depend on your waist, hips and actual size. The variances in the screen shots is minimal.

Check out the gallery.

(thought I'd add this question here since a newbie searching will find all info in one thread)

Is there a decided upon width for the straps? I got my SC armor in the mail a week ago, and there's no way I can cut the holes in the front of the belt to make this 1 3/8" strap go through there without a lot of bunching. I was thinking of grabbing a 1" strap while I'm out this afternoon.

As for attaching them, is there a specific requirement there? I've borrowed pre-assembled KS armor, and they just have a basic hemline in the strap (just folded over and sewn tight to make a thick end) inside the front belt box to keep it from pulling through and velcro on the back straps to attach anywhere under the velcro used to hold the TD in place. To troop yesterday, with my new SC armor almost complete, I put snaps on there. I tapered the strap to make it fit in the slot of the front box and snapped the 2 hip straps together inside. Then I put a snap on each loose end and matching snaps under the TD on the main belt. It's tough to get the clips on/off with even the smallest snaps, so I doubt this will be my final solution, but I'd love to hear how other people do it.

Lancer spec calls for 1.5" wide cotton strapping. I simply elongated the holes in the belt for the straps with a Dremel. You can check out my build thread here.

Ah, I missed that step when reading your build thread earlier. I see now, you widen the slot underneath the opening that's already on the belt box, so it doesn't really show that you had to widen it. I definitely like the way you attached the back. Most setups I've seen require that you unhook the straps to put on the belt because they both attach to the same side in the back. I've gotta pick up some heavier snaps while I'm out today. I've been using the ones from Walmart, the ones that have a white circle back with the 6 little teeth that push thru the fabric. The way you've done it with rivets and plastic plates looks much stronger.

You should take your build thread and separate it into sections without all the "good job" comments in between, then sticky that or at least make new threads for each section of the armor with keywords for searches.
