elwyn5150
Hi everyone, I went to an armour party on Saturday and had my photos taken in costume. I'd like to get some feedback on my costume. I don't really like these photos. I've put on a few kilograms for starters. I don't even stand up straight (and I didn't even drink any beers). Link to photobucket album: http://s1138.beta.ph...23%20Feb%202013 One thing I've noticed is that the torso armour isn't sitting evenly on my shoulders. What do you think of my drop box positioning? 4505Marcel
Id say your pouches want to go inwards, and it does look like your drop boxes are a touch high. But that may change if you slide them back a little, Id say your bund needed to be a touch taller as I recon your going to be foreever pulling your armour down to hide the black of the suit. You possibly could also run a stitch down the inside of both legs on your flight suit to loos some of the baggyness Just minor tweaks bro
chimei
a lot done for an armor party. good job. i agree with 4505Marcel. the thigh box straps in front should be lowered and then shortened in the back...to bring it into balance. your mud flap looks a bit long. i can't tell from the picture, but do you have the riding patches and elastic on the thighs? future (minor) touches: round off the corners of the shoulder bells. i've heard some folks use a coin to get the right curve. I had really bad scout camel toe. The riding patches are stitched in with elastic. Dang it's hard to see black on black in those photos. Thanks for the advice.

Southscout
I forgot about my bund issues. It's really tight. I had really bad scout camel toe. Is it possible to modify the bund so it's taller? If it works, you could add a couple of inches on top if you make sure the seam is hidden by your chest armor straps. To avoid the camel toe, there are a couple of ways discussed here. Camping mat or funfoam with or without a plastic insert for instance. Don't be afraid to test and try so you're happy with it, and don't forget that the belt is good for hiding stuff (like seams).
elwyn5150
Things have been frustratingly slow since I created this thread. I asked a friend for help with my cummerbund and she offered to modify it by replacing all of it except the crotch flap. She made the cummerbund higher and it fits better. However, it took awhile for her to make the changes since she has a part-time business making roller derby clothing and gets orders from all over the country. Anyhow, last week I submitted the photos to my garrison's approvers. I haven't heard back from them. These were the photos: http://s1138.photobucket.com/user/elwyn5150/library/Scout%20trooper%20build/2013-05-05%20Approval%20Photos%20Submission?sort=3&page=1 including ones I would reject. Since then, I've had time to make some further improvements: added Makita clips to the TD added velcro to the vest to hold up the cummerbund Things I still need to do: curve the shoulder bells - what size of coin would be a good guide (and what is the diametre of that in either mm or inches) add velcro for the forearm and bicep parts - I am still not sure where they are meant to sit even after looking at the CRL lots. Pandatrooper
Here's how I trimmed and curved my shoulder bells, hope that helps. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9781&st=60&p=83307entry83307
Chex
Your bund is still too low. Remember you don't want any black material to ne seen between your chest/back and the bund. You need to pull it up, because I can see almost 2 inches or more of your bund below your belt. You don't want all of you bund between your upper torso and your belt. Nothing below the belt. Also, your legs are really baggy. I'd look into getting that fixed, though it shouldn't hold you up for approval.
Donovan
I would pull up the biceps more.they should be right below the shoulder bells
elwyn5150
I've been approved to Pathfinder status and am trying to achieve Lancer status now. Here's a folder of my latest photos: http://s1138.photobucket.com/user/elwyn5150/library/Scout%20trooper%20build/2013-06-09%20Approval%20photos%20%20Attempt%202?sort=3&page=0 I've broken things down into two subfolders - Overview and Parts Closeup because some things are hard to verify in the overview pictures (eg that the knee parts have a silver unpainted rivet on each side). I've only made one change since these photos were taken - the elastic that goes from the torso armour to the shoulder bells was too long and can be seen dangling in the photo from behind so I cut it. The areas that I am most concerned about are the cuts to the boot soles and I think the gap between the drop box and the chest armour may be too large. elwyn5150
* bump * It's been almost three weeks. Should I just post to the Lancer Request thread to get feedback since it seems nobody comments here?

Griffin-X
You need to post in the Lancer Deployment thread. You'll need to post your pics in that thread along with details on your build. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showforum=

chimei
looking at the most recent pics, i'd add that shortening the butt flap may help as well...making you look taller. also, no matter how straight you are standing you will always look as if you're slouching...it's a result of the bucket snout going forward....the hump on the back going backward....and the chest pouches going forward...creating an unnatural "S" shape to your spine.
