chilledmilk
since the boot shin armor needs to be "seemless" or w/e is stated in CRL. how does that work? after mocking up my shin armor I can barely squeeze my foot into it without a boot. so I hope im missing something. Grumpy
My suggestion is to not overlap the two pieces. Susie's version might be a little different from MrB's version. A suggestion would be to put the two pieces together and glue a strip of plastic to the inside of each seam. And then do the bondo thing on the outside. It could possibly provide more room. if you could, post some pics of the shins. I haven't seen her style yet. I'm just used to putting the MrB style together. chilledmilk
ok, ill do that tonight, im just trying to think of how to put it together so they arnt so far apart the gap from shin armor and my leg is massive(because i gota fit a foot through) and how to bet a boot on afterwards
Grumpy
Try to make a temporary fit before you permanently glue it together. (You might have to add shims to make it larger if it's still too small.) Once you get to the one-piece seamless shin, you have to slide it up your leg, probably up to your knee or past it. It's a torturous process, especially if you get a cramp in your foot while putting it on. Then you can put your boot on, lace it up, and then slide the shin over the boot. It seems to be the only way to do it. That's why the calf part of this piece looks so dang huge. You have to have room ot get your foot in without breaking the stupid thing. chilledmilk
ill post a pic after work, there is plenty of material for me to form and get even enough to make it work, just maybe not look 100% like what i want too. ill have to point out the bulb down no the shin where the toe armor is suposed to meet up with it. hard to explain. just going to need a lot of bondo and sanding to make it look even, and not ripply. im using wraps of blue painters tape to hold 1/2's together so i can can get a feel for what im getting after. Death Recon
LoL, this is perfect, you keep asking the questions I'll have in a week or two and I'll just keep reading the responses (just making it easier for me buddy) Thanks Milk

Death Recon
LoL, I've been reading so much on how to build this armor for the past month or more that I feel like I have a good grasp of what I need to do... But I know when I finally get it infront of me next week I'll sit there and not know where to begin for the first couple hours ChilledMilk has a good head start on me though, so most the things I've been thinking of asking he has posted

Snapper15
Hey! I've been the Silent Bob in our build thread (Jae and Mikes). But I've noticed that my shin pieces don't swoop out in the front towards the toe like some of the othe builds do. Chilled Milks above I can see are the same pieces as mine.. So... Yeah.. Heat gun set to warp and cross my fingers or is there a step I'm missing?
Snapper15
Kinda not the same shape as what I've got.. Chilled Milks are similar to mine.. Ideas?
Death Recon
I used a heat gun to pull the sides in closer together so they lined up easier... You'd think you need a lot of room to get it up around your knee but you don't once you trim/sand that return edge down. Then I lined them up on the top and I added the slant by taping it off at an angle, lower in front and higher in back, then cutting I just got them glued so now when I have time I'll sand down the bottom edge so it's flush and bondo the sides to make them seemless. Hope that helped a bit...
