Tru-Spec Jumpsuit or Red Kap Coveralls I would prefer the one that I would have to do less mods on. Will these be acceptable? Do you like one over the other? Do you recommend another type of suit? Heavy Posted February 12, 2013 Share Posted February 12, 2013 Hi I would take the red kap - there you would "only" need to do the collar, so it will stand like the other True Spec.´s + remove the front pockets and sew the pockets together at the sides . Perhaps velcro around the arms and legs, if you want that... The True Spec needs to get all the pockets away, also the ones on the sides and the zippers on the legs and the front zipper needs to be hidden... Griffin-X Posted February 12, 2013 Share Posted February 12, 2013 I use the Redkap coveralls. It was easy to remove the 4 pockets and I used 1 of the pockets to make a neck closure. They were sewn on there so well, it took a while. Zippers on the legs aren't a problem as the boots hide that. The 27-P may be easier to get the pockets off. How many visible "fix-it" stitches (small ones, visible only if you look closely) before the suit is considered unserviceable? Is this a GML question? I'm a tall guy at 6'4"....yea I know.....don't stand next to Vader....kneel in front Jack.... So these suits become a real challenge. Red Kap comes in a long size so the measurements seem nice and tall / long. Will update once I get it and verify ! As always - great advice Scouts ! Lucky Jack Posted December 1, 2013 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Slight delay in my order (size was back ordered).....but received my Redkap's yesterday. Took me about 45 minutes to remove the two back pockets and one small side with a $3 seam ripper. Easy as could be and it came out beautifully. Wonderful build quality and the tall sizing fits great for us tree top bikers.
