painting the inside of helmet?

do we paint inside of helmet? in the Kashyyyk trooper helmet with the ears actually cut out you would need to paint inside black to help the effect and to keep the inside of helmet from blinding you? do you paint the inside? if so with what? how do you keep the fumes of spray paint from getting to you? or is that an added bonus that we here at BSN don't talk about?

I painted it with a brush using a matt black.

I don't think it matters too much how you paint it and how it looks since only you will over see inside it and nobody is going to peer right down those holes. It's more of a matter of getting it black.

 

If you are spray painting, you could consider a mask while painting.

Yeah, I just brush paint the inside of the ears black, so when you look at it from the front you can't see anything on the inside.

 

As for fumes...

I taped my helmet up in a cut-open plastic bag with masking tape on the ears from the inside. Then I spray painted it with black plasti-dip.

I taped it off and made sure not to be wearing it when i spray painted it.
