I cut up some drain pipe holders in half so I had bits of plastic that were at right-angles.

I heated up them and bent them a bit because the curve of the tank. Glued one bit on the inside of the tank's side. Drilled hole through that plastic thing and the back of the armour.

The trickiest part was making sure that the hole in the plastic bit and the back of the armour lined up.

To do this, I taped a small round rare earth magnet on the inside plastic bit where the hole went, lined up the tank against the back plate then used another rare earth magnet to find where I needed to drill on the back plate.

I attached with bolts and didn't bondo. However, for non-canon events (eg parties), I still can use the inaccurate MOM flashing LED. The switch was attached to the round greeblie but when it came off and I tried to glue it back on, I stuffed up the switch. So I manually attach and remove the tank to turn it off and on.

Elwyn5150 you are talking about a TB back correct?

chilledmilk is asking about the kashyyyk back.

I have a Mr Bungle kit and mine came attached but maybe i can help. It looks like the way it was attached is the tank is cut to be wider than the opening in the back plate so it gets pushed through the opening in the back plate from the inside. Where the excess on the tank on the inside meets the backplate, it is glued together, e6000, or some kind of plastic welder like devcon would do the trick. Then sand the seam on the outside and bondo then sand for a seamless look. Ill see if I can get a pic up today.
