Boots with or without laces?

Recommended Posts

Getting my trooper pieces together and debated if I should buy or make my boots. I figured I'd at least buy the shoes, give it a go, and see what happens.

When you guys are putting the vinyl over the boots, do you take out the laces first? Would it not look weird with the laces in under the vinyl? How do you slip your foot in and out of the boot base without untying and retying the laces? If you put the vinyl over the boots with the laces loose (or no laces at all), how would your foot not slip out when walking?

I leave them in too....

But I never ever do them up when I'm wearing mine, so why I leave them in there is beyond me!

You can always leave them untied if it's too tight, you but you can't tie them up when it's too loose if you don't have them!

I just picked my boots:

Are these (pre-vinyl of course) acceptable? Tan soles (no two colors) and no stitching around the sides of the tan base (there's crimping, but no stitching). Plus they were only $20! What do you guys think?

I think he means the back part at the top of the boot. Yup, you can do that if you feel you need to (or if you made your own boots and they're way too tightly stretched over the laces. :D )
