Need Help Finding TD Gray Tubbing

ES Esq

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any suggestions? I tried Lowes and Home Depot. All their tubbing is either too small or the wrong color. Everything I see online requires me to buy 50 feet of it. Any suggestions?

My armor is MonCal armor so if you are familiar with it, perhaps you can recommend a good size (inner and outer diameter) to get and where to get it.

Thanks

Griffin - Did you have any problems with the paint flaking off or cracking? I was debating on doing this.

Chex - It did come with a tube, but it just looks wrong. It seems to be way too thin when you put the caps on the end. I think the outer diameter is around 1". I think it would look better with 1 1/2", maybe even 1 1/4". The caps just look huge next to the tube.

The tube diameter should be somewhere in the region of 40mm...

The original was some sort of swimming pool hose or something. I can't find anything over here that is even vaguely similar, so most of us end up using a vacuum cleaner hose. Dyson do a good silver colour.

Just remember, we're not going to fault you for using the parts supplied. Almost everyone uses what comes with the kit. If your goal is Lancer, then you shouldn't have a problem with what you have. What part of Florida are you in, Chris? I would say hit up a local troop. If you're not signed up on the Florida Garrison boards, do so and then come handle, check out a scout or two in costume. Get some advice from other scouts. If you're going to MegaCon in March there should be some scouts there you can check out and ask advice from, including me. ;)

Maybe I am being hyper-critical, but here are the pictures. Is it just me or does the tube look really small in comparison to the end caps? I would like to eventually go for Lancer and even if this were accepted, it just looks wrong. Am I crazy or does it look fine?
