PanzerKraken
Is there a specific shape or exact measure on this? Some of the pics I see of folks seem to all kinda do it slightly different. Some seem to have more angular patches while some look very rounded. Is it kinda just do whatever works? How far from the knee should it be? See in the costume standard reference it should be near above the knee armor, but in various trooper pics they don't look like their suede goes that low. Chex
You don't want it too low. Just above the knees. Check out build threads. I know there was a thread on here somewhere showing a nice pattern.

Chef
As a rough guide, the patch should extend down the inside of your leg, about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way between your crotch and your knee. The bottom section should be rounded. I basically do an arc from the lowest point to it's outer edge. The outer edges (front and rear) should run down the seam lines (or what would be the seam line if you had them....) or there abouts, so effectively the inner half of your leg has the patch on. The strap then goes around the outer half. The patch should go up high enough so it goes up underneath the cummerbund and doesn't end below it. This doesn't tend to be so critical on the back, because the butt flap tends to cover most of that area, So which ever template you use, you will generally have to scale it to suit your frame. Hope that makes sense.

PanzerKraken
K good info so far to keep in mind. The two elastic straps, any particular position for these? Do most ppl just sew it into the the suede seam or they run the a whole strap around the leg underneat the suede? Here you go: http://forum.bikersc...?showtopic=7393 Ah ok now I see it, I saw that post before and thought the pics were broken but guess it was the monitor I was using didn't let me see the template over the the dark grey background lol
Chef
I normally just put the strap under the suede edge, I don't bother going all the way round the thigh.
PanzerKraken
Guess I'm gonna stop and order the real suede. Started to use some faux suede from nearby fabric store but it really does not stand out at all against the black jump suit, so ordered some real stuff. How well does the real suede hold up though to multiple washes? Know when I did my cobra viper costume, had to wash that jump suit so many times. Anyone have trouble with real suede and multiple washes?
Chunk
I used this pattern on my first go around. Gotta say it didn't look good at all. Trying to match up two seperate pieces was way too hard. It left a wedge shapped gap in th butt area. I took it off & layed out the jumpsuit flat. I then traced a nice one pice shape that I was happy with. Cut & applied with "HD Magic Web" Then for added security I sewed it in place.
