Donovan Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Hey guys Donovan here wondering how you keep armor parts from slipping like the biceps forearmed and knees.do u have tight elastic or do you attach Velcro to the armor piece and the flight suit?
Southscout Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Velcro is the solution. One piece of adhesive velcro on the armor part, and a corresponding piece sewn on to the flight suit.
Chef Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Yup, or go one further and add a pop stud into the middle of your velcro patch.... That's my method and it's what I term "trooper-proof"
Griffin-X Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Agreed. In a word, Velcro. It's your best friend in the costume world.
Chex Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Velcro is the cure all for slippage lol. Adding a snap, or as Chef would say, a popper, just adds to the security.
Donovan Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 Ok that's what I thought.so do I sew the Velcro on the suit?
4505Marcel Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Yup sewn onto the suit and stuck onto the armour bud
Southscout Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Ok that's what I thought.so do I sew the Velcro on the suit? Yes, remember to buy some sew-on velcro for that. If you try to sew in the adhesive kind you'll run into problems. The glue sticks to the needle, which makes the needle stick to the thread, which will not work very well.
boetscher Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Patrik is right. I had this problem with my boots. Thats not good for your Fingers ;-)
