I just glued the scope and i'm waiting for the e6000 to fully cure so i can then start painting it BUT there's a problem with the pistol.. check out the pictures bubble holes EVERYWHERE! should i contact the seller about this problem or should i just bondo it, sand it, forgive and forget? 4505Marcel Posted December 18, 2012 Share Posted December 18, 2012 It does look like a very poor cast mate, you should always expect some bubbling as it is near on impossible to get it perfect. But that is quite bad, its going to take a lot of work filling those up. I would contact them, but they sent it out so they will know what its like. You should be able to fill the small ones with some bondo spot filler pretty easily though. The bigger one would need regular bondo. I would contact him/them about it. BananoPower22 Posted December 19, 2012 Author Share Posted December 19, 2012 i'm out of bondo sadly so i went ahead and sanded the pistol however i could and sprayed some black satin on it, the bubble holes aren't very noticeable now. you won't see them unless you're really looking for them sadly im not pleased how the black ended up looking. i might sand it later and repaint so it's not so shiny Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Griffin-X Posted December 19, 2012 Share Posted December 19, 2012 As mentioned in my PM...I would lightly sand it and then brush it with some type of filler (bondo, ABS paste, etc), then sand it smooth, primer it, and paint it flat black. Once it's primed and painted black, you can always weather the little imperfections with silver to get that nicely worn look. This is how my blaster from the same seller turned out. And I'll also buy some flat black spray paint. Question: is there a way to keep the gun steady so you can walk without having to worry about the pistol falling down to the ground? I found an old galon of bondo that i had on the back of my car, so i went ahead and bondoed the bubble holes... the sanding isn't perfect but i tried my best. now, after all of that was done i used some chrome spray paint as a base color in case the flat black, which i'm about to buy in a couple of minutes, scratches or wears off the chrome paint will be revealed and eureka! battle damage Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Griffin-X Posted December 22, 2012 Share Posted December 22, 2012 Nice idea. For mine, I drilled out the barrel tip and the front of the scope to give it an extra edge. For my holster, I have a small square of white foam that helps secure the blaster (while walking). I mostly carry mine though, gotta be ready for Rebels and eWoks!
