Holy Mirrored lens Batman!!!

Certainly a novel way of dealing with a Rubies lid.... hehehehehe.

But a Pauldron... er.... no.

I don't mind the weathering, it's probably just about on the limit for me personally. But it's ok.

i thought the same about the lens lol, i'm thinking this might be the way to go and save my bucket, i dont know about cracking the visor but i like the looks with scratches and dents, i think it shows the hardships endured from a long deployment, but then again would busted armor be replaced after a deployment?

Sorry but nope not my cup of tea, but then thats just my opinion :P . I dont really like the silver lens, definately no pauldron they are for the sandies and the broken visor Mmmm, id hate to see the state of his speeder  I personally wouldnt clear the armour with cracks like that if I was a GML. The weathering is pretty cool, id tone down the black lines as they look too man made if you like, but the subtle weathering is spot on, much more real world than the silly black splats Lucas gave the bikers, take away the extras and its a nice biker ;)

I have always been a firm believer that your armor should be as shiny and presentable as you can make it. As a military man even in times of extreme work I have to keep my uniform presentable and "inspection ready" so I can only imagine the standards a strict galactic empire would have.

that's the way i have always viewed the empire but just returning from a combat mission or something to that effect leaves uniforms and body armor pretty messed up lol.

Agree.

I've seen this guy floating around everywhere... i just don't understand the pauldron. OKAY on a TK, but anything else is just weird and out of place.

I read that Scouts tend to have issues with discipline and are generally ill-behaved with terrible attitudes. I honestly think that shiny-shiny decorum wouldn't fit their aesthetic one bit. I know they stick out like a sore thumb but polishing everything would only make that worse, right?

But then again I guess it'd be down to the individual troopers, everyone differs right? Plus when you're out on deployment who's gonna be breathing down your neck and telling you to shine your visor?

I'm just sayin' is all. I'm not gonna weather my armour, going for the polished up rookie look. But I can appreciate the rugged appearance of some weathered stuff. But I definitely agree with everyone else on that pauldron and the visor. And if I spent a lot of money on something the last thing I'd wanna do is crack it.

just thinking to myself, i think a neat idea would be to rough something up every troop ("Deployment") so by the end of a year or so you would have that weathered look.

there again i just spent a ton of money and a whole lot of time building my suit, i dont really want to damage it.

Just my opinion, I'm going for the naturally weathered look from trooping. But I remember from ROTJ when Palpatine arrives on the Death Star 2. He's walking with Darth Vader and there is a scene where you can see rows and rows of nice, shiny new Biker Scouts standing at attention. I love that scene. Obviously, not all of those dudes went to Endor, most died on the DS2 with the rest of the troops. It's still a cool scene for me...some of us are shiny, some of us hit trees on Endor, some just fly around on speeder bikes. It's all up to you and your imagination! B)
