dankelzaga
Hi everyone. Question 1. I have my cumberbund, pouches and chest armor ready to go. I'm a bit confused on how you all attach the pouches. I have the velcro flap on the pouches but am unsure of the best method. Do you all place velcro under the chest armor and the pouches simply hang from there? Or do you also physically attach them to the cumberbund and then also use those flaps? If anyone could provide some tips or a picture of your set up I'd sure appreciate it. Question 2. I'm a bit of a barrel chested guy. As my waist is thinner but my lats and chest wider..my cumberbund fits well but tends to want to slide down. Is there any reason I can't have a seamstress attach two suspenders to help keep in firmly in place? The suspenders would not be visible as they would be attached on the back side of the cumberbund and the straps would be hidden beneath the vest. Thought I would ask at least. Appreciate any assistance.
Darth Voorhees
The pockets on mine are attched to the inside of the armor. I found that best. I've had them attched to the bund, but i like em better on the armor. Yes you can add suspenders(id suggest making them webbing, not elastic, as they will just stretch and still sag) to the bund. I have them on mine. As long as they stay hidden your good! Mine are webbing with slide adjusters and parachute clips
Chef
Choice is yours... I've had mine sewn to the bund, I've seen then velcro'ed to the bund, I'seen them sewn in their entirety to the bund...... I currently have mine velcro'ed to the inside of the armour (just so I can swap out my bund between the Scout and Snow Scout). All ways seem to be as good as the other. 4505Marcel
As Rob said what ever works really mate, I have mine sewn to the bund. Put on your armour get someone to hold on your pouches in the right place and mark it, take off and sew job done
Southscout
My pouches have forward facing velcro attached to the inside of the chest armor. Easy to move around etc, but basically up to your own preference. As for the suspenders vs. velcro bund to the flight suit, again it's up to you. some people has velcro on the flight suit connecting to the inside of the bund, some has suspenders. I made mine with two straps of webbing and some suspender clips found at a local store: Pros: easy to make, easy to move around. Cons: the bund might slip a bit to the right or the left, if you're using velcro and are careful in placing it you know that it will sit on the exact same spot every time. But there are pros and cons with the velcro as well of course.
Chex
I have mine sewn. It's never failed me and I don't have to worry about suspenders showing anywhere. But like everyone has said, whatever works best for you that's going to keep your bund up and not sag. As far as pouches go, I think everyone has given good advice. Ultimately though, it's how you want it. Just make it look good.
