bwattsup
I haven't come across a tutorial on the flak vest yet Jesse. I don't think one exists. The only thing i"ve seen so far are just gallery pics. Most things I've read about it say to follow a general pattern for a t-shirt...with obvious alterations to the pattern of course. Wish I could help more. I'll be in the same boat soon enough.
Varkyn
would you be able to find where you read about the pattern for the T-shirt? and thanks Barry
bwattsup
No problem. There's some basic info in this thread: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9353 On post #7, Griffin links a couple of other threads from the BSN archives. This thread is also of interest: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=8740 On post #16 Smiling Fox describes what he did. I hope those help. If you make something that works well, you could always be the one to make the tutorial. Good luck
M.J
I made my son's ...while he was at school, I used one of tshirts as a pattern didn't dawn on me it might be too small but luckly for me, all was good. A couple of Pathfinders noticed I had velcro around the front instead of back, the neck is hidden around the front also but the back is the same as per movie
4505Marcel
A T shirt pattern is fine to follow, just remember to open the neck wider and have a 2" (50mm) black velcro closure at the back. The sleeves want to end just slightly longer tham the shoulder bells. Not too much though as it then upsets your bicep armour
NegativeEleven
I'm new here, and haven't looked around much, so I don't know if this has been covered elsewhere. It looks a lot like Boba Fett's flak vest. It just stops a lot higher on the torso. There's lots of tutorials on www.thedentedhelmet.com for making every part of Fett's suit. I know you can get patterns for his flak vest there, as well as the belt pouches (which are exactly the same). And unlike most costuming forums, I don't think you need to register a username there to browse. EDIT: link to the exact post about flak vest: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f20/flak-vest-tutorial-draft-your-own-pattern-9926/
