tk1692
What do people recommend for Mic and Speaker/Amp sytems? Push to Talk buttons? Wireless system? Static burst? I watched Return of the Jedi the other night and there was no static burst sounds.
Chef
There is no static burst requirement.... I have one, just because I use the system in my TK as well, should the need arise. But most people I think use just a standard Mic, with something like an Aker amp and speaker set up. No push to talk, just the usual VOX type voice activation. Mine is all wired (wireless is too posh), I run the system in one of the pouches and then run the mic through the back of the pouch, back up under the chest plate and into my suit. Up through the neck into the helmet.
4505Marcel
I use the rom/fx system, rom and batteries in one pouch and nokia hands free speaker in the other pouch, wire up into the bucket with mic
9506
Thanks to some recommendations here I am using the 10W Aker amp I placed in a pouch. I am using a neckworn mic which I put into the helmet. With a little hole in my cummerbund (behind by the pouch) and the back of the pouch the wire goes invisibly through the flightsuit into the amp. Wired system, no static burst, no PTT.
silverBoyd
I'll probably just use my AKER voice amp that I use along with my Sandy armor. In my Sandy armor I have the amp strapped under my chest armor and I run the mic wire under my neckseal. I'll probably do something similar for my Biker Scout. Southscout
I tried to fit my AKER under the chest plate (MC armor), but it was too thick so it wasn't comfortable at all. what I did now was to sew button holes (to avoid tearing) in my flight suit, one in the vest, and then one at the back on of the pouches. The holes are big enough to get the cable through and are very easy to make if you have a sewing machine that supports it (I think most of them does). Heavy
Are there any of you who have experience with these? I'm not so good at technical things, so I really appreciate good advice http://dx.com/p/asua-178-multi-function-megaphone-voice-amplifier-mp3-player-with-fm-usb-sd-mmc-microphone-black-103321 http://dx.com/p/asus-198-multi-function-mp3-player-megaphone-voice-amplifier-w-fm-usb-sd-microphone-white-101937

They're 10x10x4 cm, whereas the Aker is 7x9x2.5. It weighs 293g and the Aker 200g. Spec-wise they look ok, maybe 15W is a it too much, the AKER is 10W and it's loud when needed.
Heavy
Oki thanks Patrik - just that there is quit some money to save on these rather than the aker... Hmm perhaps I just should bye me one and see if it can work...
