The way I have my armor kit built my shoulder armor is held in place by a t-shape velcro faster that connects it to the chest armor. This has worked fine but recently I had to do a lot of arm swinging and this became a problem. Has anyone tried sewing a velcro patch directly to the vest and if so is that better in any way?

I have mine attached via a pop stud / velcro patch on the top of the shoulder and an elastic strap around the bicep.

Never had any issues with my set-up.

could i see a picture of this setup please? yours sounds better then just attaching the T strap to the shoulder via the velcro.

I use the same T strap mate hanging from the bridge fabric, but you also need a elastic around the arm too for accuracy and to hold them in place

Hi Jesse...

I can't seem to find a specific pic of the bit in question, but here is a similar thing on the inside of my Storm Commando chest plate.

If you imagine that strip of material being velcro, with the poppers through it, and the corresponding other part of the velcro with the other popper through it which is then sewn/glued to the under suit or vest etc...

I find this set up to be pretty darn foolproof. If anything, the glue tend to rip the set-up from the armour before the popper/velcro comes apart.

I have a piece of velcro on my vest, it start on the top, just where the shiny fabric connects with the "other" fabric. It then goes straight down approx 2 inches. For me it works like a charm, I don't have to use the T-straps even though I have them (I just tuck them in under the shoulder bell). Oh, and the strap that Marcel mentions is very good to have, and real simple to do.

Let me know if you need a picture, I can probably scrounge one up for you.

I have the elastic around the arm and the t-strap velcro. I will try the patch on the vest and see how that works.

Hi

here's a link to the vest which I bought from Diana at Artemtiscuts. You see where the velcro is attached on the top.

And you have no problem with your shoulders? It seems with only that much velcro they would wobble around. Also thanks for the picture!
