modifying dpm's

so I got my dmps in today, I know the pants are take all pockets off and resew on the thigh pouch, on the jacket what all comes off? the British patch of course, and what about the breast pockets or the one on the sleeve.? and the rank flap on chest?

your armor will sit over some parts figure out what parts you have to take off meaning everything that dont sits under your armor

You may want to shorten the sleeves, too, depending on how tight the gauntlets are. Removing the velcro closure on the cuff and replacing it with elastic is also a good idea. Stuffing the sleeve into the gloves can be a challenge at times.

Stupid holiday is right when all my mats for making soft armor is due to come in, not that the holiday is stupid just bad timing on my part. Hope to be posting pics of gloves and DPM tomorrow or so.. cummerbund by this weekend?

I removed the epaulets on the shoulders and stitched em to my collar to make it like a mandarin collar for closure

the arm pockets if you have em are better removed so as not to bulk up under your bicep armour

 

I kept my breast pockets - which actually helped in placement of my amp device

Being in the uk I can get the trousers and top very cheap. It looks like a lot of people use the bdu version. Which is better to get?

Yes the British Desert BDU's are the best just make sure you get the cotton ones and not the windproof, the windproof ones dot take dye very well.
