silent Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Just started heating the vinyl onto my boots, using lugz for a base, just wondering if the strings need to come out? First pic
4505Marcel Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Normally no the laces stay in, but it does look like the laces extend quite far down the toe on these which isnt ideal if you dont want them to show. Possibly start the laces a few eyelets up might help?
silent Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 yeah think I am gonna get some real short ones for just the top eyelet and the hooks, started heating the second one with no laces and like the look a lot better
silent Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 ok wanna get opinions on the tightness before I glue this down
4505Marcel Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 They do look tight enough mate, Im just not sure they are a great donor boot to use due to the lace set up. But give it a go what you got to loose
bwattsup Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I think he's using the same Lugz base boot a lot of others are using. Not sure if they are doing something different to cover the eyelets a little better. Maybe a second layer of vinyl would help.
silent Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 2nd layer is what i am debating, driving me nuts how it is showing the holes, seen others with the same boot, and it does not show, pm'd jaycee who used the same boot to see what he did.
bwattsup Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 It would drive me nuts too James. Are the eyelets able to be filed? Maybe spread a coat of E-6000 around the eyelet section to "flush" it out. I don't know man. Just trying to offer some solutions.
4505Marcel Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Its probably just the angles ect but these boots look really long and thin?
jaycee9 Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just remembered..... I removed the eyelets so the sides sit flatter. Sorry mate, just popped into my head then
silent Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 lol, that was the other thing I was wondering about
