BrewDiver Posted November 2, 2012 Share Posted November 2, 2012 i still need to add the greeblies on the TD and the one for the bicep fell off as i was putting the armor on, ive since added a pair of braces to help hold up the cummerbund and will add velcro, i also have foam to fill the bags, i think i need to redo the covering where the chest and back join together on the shoulder. Chex Posted November 2, 2012 Share Posted November 2, 2012 Just make sure you shore up your shoulder bridges to they look a lot cleaner. chimei Posted November 2, 2012 Share Posted November 2, 2012 coming along nicely. be sure that that the bund is safely tucked under the armor. this could be adjusted easily by widening the space at the sides of the chest and back plates. i would also lower the belt so that the bund doesn't fall below. you'll have to check, but i don't know if the two rivets holding the three pieces of the belt together will pass. i used "oatey for abs, cpvc, pvc all purpose cement" #30821. this melts the pieces together. i made sure the front overlapped toward the back, all the way up to the box so that it was as invisible as possible. then i added little "belt loops" to the inside and then ran the nylon through it to give it that extra support. i've had no trouble with it breaking, cracking, or any weakness issues. it's held up very nicely, hope that helps. Greg - the rivets are okay for general approval but you should paint them as Chex pointed out. For Lancer approval, the belt should be done differently, like Mark's belt above, no rivets. Griffin-X Posted November 3, 2012 Share Posted November 3, 2012 Yep, you can add Velcro to the flak vest and corresponding cummerbund to keep from getting the dreaded "slippage". Yea this was one of the things i was super impressed with when Mark sent his clearance pics. I couldnt even tell it was a 3 piece belt. Very nicely done. Actually his whole Scout is very well done lol. But yea, Now i suggest to any new scouts to do it this way if they have a 3-piece belt.
