kwdesigns Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Some or most of you might know that back in June 2012 I bought the molds from Tom "Mr.B." It has a lot of clean up I want to do and some parts I will make new from scratch. I have started on the Toe Caps. Obviously they are not done yet. But I had received some request for them hence that is why I started on them first. I will do my best to continue to show the progress I make on this project. K.A.M. PunkRocketScience Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Very exciting Kev! Can't wait to see the finished suits!
Banzai88 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 This will be great to have more 41st Scouts in SCG. Will be watching this one Kev! Very exciting Kev! Can't wait to see the finished suits!
Wickedfluxx Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Good to know, looking forward to seeing it Kev!
kwdesigns Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 I'm still working on them but here is a vac-formed test pull. It will take some time to get all the other parts ready. This pic kind of gives you the stages I need to go through for each part. Some or Most parts will be a new sculpt from scratch. Kevin W. 1
PunkRocketScience Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Looking good Kevin! Only 15 more pieces to go! What material and thickness are you thinking you'll be using for your suits?
kwdesigns Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 Looking good Kevin! Only 15 more pieces to go! What material and thickness are you thinking you'll be using for your suits? LOL.. "Only 15 more parts" I plan on using ABS. Thickness might vary depending on the parts. Kevin W.
bjsavage7 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Wow! Lookin' good, Kev! Can't wait to see more.
Drak Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Kevin's making KT armor? I know who I'm buying mine from!
Junglie Scout Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Are you planning on modifying the helmet. I find mine hard to see out of as the bridge of the nose gets in the way. If you do, I'll be first in the queue. Got to finish my awesome Commander Wolffe first though!!!
kwdesigns Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 I have an up-date on the Toe Caps... Kevin W.
kwdesigns Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Are you planning on modifying the helmet. I find mine hard to see out of as the bridge of the nose gets in the way. If you do, I'll be first in the queue. Got to finish my awesome Commander Wolffe first though!!! I have not put too much thought into the helmet yet. So I don't have an answer for you. I know just by the CG design alone that the dome is very low profile which makes it unrealistic for a human to properly wear with good vision. I'll see what I can do when it come to that time. Kevin W.
Jimah Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Awesome I have fielded a few queries from would be CBs here in Oz and told them armour is coming soon. Great to see what you are doing with these! Good luck... Mr B's moulds are in great hands!
kwdesigns Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 Just an up-date. I decided to sculpt a new Chest and I'll be sculpting a new back also. If anyone has followed my previous work on other armor kits and helmets this is the way I have made most of those. You can see more of my other work here http://www.imperialsurplus.com/ This is just the very beginning of the Kashyyyk Chest Sculpt. Kevin W.
Wickedfluxx Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Looking great! Previous chest and back molds weren't going to work out?
Death Recon Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Any news on this set? I still haven't found any hard pieces for the Kashyyk (think I've lined up most of the shift pieces that I don't think I can make on my own)
holle Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I heard on CTN because of the Crow Boot Situation Kevin has put this Project on hold till he gets his Boots or something like that wich makes me scream Noooooooooo. I´m building this KST for 1 Year now. Seems this Project is cursed. Troubles,Troubles,Troubles 1 Step forward 2 Steps back is it for me.
kwdesigns Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 I had to put this project on hold for a little bit for a few different reasons. I have a deadline to meet with a different project "Ralph McQuarrie's Concept Stormtrooper Armor" and only have 5 months to complete it. After I am done I will be able to revisit the KT molds and get that armor done. You can see the thread for the RMQ Concept armor here... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/22683-ralph-mcquarries-concept-stormtrooper-armor/ Kevin W.
quingald finn Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 too bad kevin i would really like to have the KT armor your making. When do you think you be starting back up again?
mrbungle Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 good luck , kevin, glad you are re sculpting some parts.....some of the parts i was never happy with, the chest and back definitely needed to be updated.. looks awesome so far...
holle Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Now that your Mcquarrie Concept Stormys are revealed at CE2 When are you back on Track for the KST? Any News?
kwdesigns Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 I was just asked about this the other day. I have a few other things I need to take care of first. But I do plan on offing the Vac-formed armor. I'm just not looking forward to making all the rubber cast parts. Kevin W.
Death Recon Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 well if you make some rubber parts that actually hold paint I'll be grabbing a belt, and elbow straps off of you for sure Be interesting to see another kit out there for this.
spider__32 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 to know prosupuesto of this armor which can be reported?p
