Elastic question

I just got my SC armor and am going through everything and making sure I have everything lined up before starting (and messing something up )

 

Anyway, I noticed that it came with 2 inch white elastic to use for attaching the chest and the back, but the slot cut in both pieces seem to be closer to 1.5 inches. So, do I need to cut larger slots, or do I need to find smaller elastic?

I cut the slots larger because the 2" elastic is supposed to be used for that area

Thanks. I didn't want to go cutting things if I wasn't supposed to. And actually just found the lancer requirements which spelled it out.

_{Ive actually used the more accurate cotton webbing, with the elastic sewn to the elastic inside where it cant be seen, for movement}
