White duck cloth in the UK?

Hi all,

I'm looking to start building myself a cummerbund/pouches but first (naturally!) I need the material. I've read on here and elsewhere that this should be white duck for the cummerbund and off-white/beige for the pouches? Is that right?

Any ideas where I may source some (especially the white) in the UK? I've done a bit of a search around and so far mostly come up with 20yard bolts of the stuff which is a little more than I'm needing ;)

Thanks in advance!

You need to search for TWILL here in the UK mate, duck cloth is more of a US thing. Its a sort of heavy denim like fabric.

You have a choice with pouches mate they can be white or off white, but with off white pouches you need off white drop box straps and side straps.

I personally wouldnt try and find off white material for the pouches mate, if you want to have off white pouches thats all good, but you will then need to have off white drop box straps and off white material on the side of your armour holding the chest and back together to match. Try getting those all to match well, it just wont happen.

Best thing to do now I have found is to make your pouches in white out of the same material as the bund, then buy COTTON strapping for the drop box and side straps (different sizes) and then dye the pouches and straps togther giving a perfect match, I just used Dylon stone weakened down a little to make my new pouch bits.

Thats why I no longer offer off white pouches as it is far better done this way for a good match, it wasnt in the crl before about all white parts or off white pouches with off white straps so it didnt really matter before too much.

Hope this helps bud
