  1. Thanks for the heads up! It looked right on my end, but I'll give it another go.
  2. I'm not the best at documenting my projects so I apologize for what is going to be an incomplete WIP, but I figured I could start asking questions in my own build thread rather than starting a new thread for every little question I have. Overall info for my build: I bought the RS Props kit for both the armor and the helmet. I'm decent behind the sewing machine so I am making or modifying my soft parts except the gloves which came from Endor Finders. Also got an Ukswraths amp and speaker kit for my helmet. Current status of the build: Helmet is being painted. Armor is cut out and ready for strapping. I have my chest and back armor together and rigged the zip ties for the shoulder bells. I tailored my flight suit and added all the suede patches and loops. EC-17 is printed and painted (ready for assembly). Currently sewing my flak vest and will be starting boots in a day or two. Which brings me to my current question. I'm trying to do as much right the first time as possible (as I am sure we all are) so I went to measure my vest sleeves by using the shoulder bells - and my shoulder bells look big to me - especially in height. I know RS Props had pencil lines for me to follow on these, but they still look oversized to me. I wanted to get your guys' thoughts before I start trimming away. I also noticed that I have a return edge on the bottom of the shoulder bell which I thought was correct, but I can't seem to tell where I got that notion from. It's hard to tell, but I haven't been able to see that edge in reference photos or on others builds - but it is so small it can be hard to make out. If there isn't a return edge on the bottom, I think I got the answer to my question. Thanks! I'm excited to share progress as I make it (and remember to photograph)
  3. Has anyone tired Rust-Oleum Custom Lacquer for their helmet paint (see link)? I'm getting ready to paint my RS Helmet and in doing research on here it seems like we know the originals were Ferrari White, but the common rattle can option is Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch or an Appliance White paint. Seeing this is a gloss white paint for cars, it seems like a decent option, but I'm also afraid to ruin all my hard work with the wrong paint. Thoughts and suggestions are welcome! https://www.autozone.com/paint-and-body/lacquer-paint/p/rust-oleum-custom-lacquer-gloss-white-spray-paint-12oz/1100911_0_0?spps.s=481&cmpid=SPL:US:EN:AD:NL:1000000:GEN:pdp&CATARGETID=120054150001288829&CADevice=c&gad_source=4&gclid=Cj0KCQjw3vO3BhCqARIsAEWblcB7Z4-tJVltX1UFFiLptb6QxOFL2Ec9uAWC14szvooVxEGH8KlkD3waApWrEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&=undefined&new_store_set=true
  4. Very belated update - life happened so my build was paused. I reached out to RS Props and they promptly sent me replacement parts! I requested a template as was expecting a pdf that I could print and trace on my parts, but they sent me whole new pieces with the cut lines clearly and crisply marked. I really appreciate them and so happy they were able to make it right without any fuss.
  5. Thanks that's a good advice. RS responded already and said they would try to help. I'll see what they can do, but studying Scoutopedia and then trying my own is a decent option. I'll follow up here before I make cuts if I go that route
  6. I've been slowly trimming and sanding my armor kit from RS Prop Masters, but when I came to the forearms and biceps I discovered there were no pencil marks to show where I am supposed to trim. I probably could do the forearm without a guide as there is a clear edge from vacuum-forming to show me where to cut, but I'm not sure how to handle the bicep. I've reached out to RS Prop Masters to see what they can do to help, but I was curious if anyone on here has run into similar in the past and what they did. Thanks in advance!
