  1. I just received an email back. Unfortunately he does not sell the vest separately
  2. I recently applied for approval for my ROTJ scout and received an email back from the garrison giving me a very short list of things that needed to be fixed before I could be approved. one of these things was the vest. turns out that my old vest I was using had a zipper in the back instead of velcro and it did not come down far enough on the arms. I have been looking online for a vendor that can give me just the vest and so far I just have 2 links. https://www.etsy.com/listing/251067728/scout-trooper-flak-vest-sw-costume https://keeptrooping.com/product/biker-vest-cummerbund/ my only issue with keeptrooping is that they sell it with a cummerbund, which I do not need. however if I buy from keeptrooping then I will have an updated cummerbund rather than the cummerbund passed down to me from 3 different people like a family heirloom. my point being, are there other alternatives and/or is the Esty link reputable?
  3. gotcha. ill remove that then
  4. I am just waiting for the approval process to run its course, however in the meantime I was thinking of 3d printing a holdout blaster for my holster. for one with the infill I plan to use, the blaster would be much lighter than the two resin casts that I currently have, and that would mean that the blaster isn't pulling the holster down thus ripping the fabric on the boot itself, and because of how light it is I can put a magnet on the blaster, and on the inside of the boot to make it stay in place as I walk around. with all this being said, are there any links to look at for a good looking 3d blaster file
  5. as far as the WIP has come along, the kit that I am using was already prebuilt save for the belt I had to replace and the flightsuit that I got off keeptrooping. what I have done however is had a friend of mine help weather the kit. we used a mix of black and brown acrylic paints in water and coated the entire armor pieces in said brown wash with a foam brush, wipe it off and dab it in areas, and then once that dries go over the recesses and the corners with a black wash and do the same. after all was done he went over the recessed areas with an airbrush to add a dark recess lining to the entire kit. everything took about 2 hours and afterwards we added a blast mark or two with an airbrush and an old sponge https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pBDW4hN-aGnrxIH7vXcfm0P9uJx4XhJlZS43keP5APQ/edit?usp=sharing with this I have finished working on the kit and I have thus submitted approval photos!
  6. genius! will definitely look into this seeing as I had 2 phones, and a decent sized chunk of Alderaan (courtesy of a 5 year old's gift to Vader I was carrying for them in an elementary) in my pockets weighing them down context:
  7. I've messaged him. I'm just waiting on his reply
  8. I will message you in Pm's
  9. how much do you charge?
  10. in that case I will stick to keeptrooping. thanks!
  11. as the months have gone by, I have come closer and closer to finishing my biker kit. As it stands right now the last thing I need before I can submit for approval is a set of boots (I am not confident enough with my set of skills to be able to hand make a pair of boots so I have taken that option off the table) that being said. is there someplace that I can get boots from that will approve? so far I have found these https://keeptrooping.com/product/biker-white/ https://www.etsy.com/listing/806431700/custom-made-biker-scout-inspired-boots?click_key=68d10fe74dca2c972525b9c1f1ca2ad623de4d93%3A806431700&click_sum=930ff826&ref=shop_home_active_1&frs=1&variation0=1407550150
  12. Gotcha. I might get a new piece anyways since the current one I'm working with is a little tight on me
  13. Thank you! I figured I would ask since the CRL didn't say anything specific about rules behind sewing the codpiece to the cummerbund
  14. I have made a few posts previously talking about how I am working towards approval as I am working with pre owned parts. The part in question this time is the cummerbund. The one I have on hand has the codpiece attached to the cummerbund making it all one piece. Is this approvable or do I need to get a new set?
