  1. I just did this with my Wampa Wear gloves and confirming it was the same process. Super easy to do!
  2. Eyyy! Sounds good, I am free to do a video call if you still are available, sent you a message on FB too. Talk to ya!
  3. Hey everyone! I just had a quick question since I'm adding some velcro to my undersuit and biceps to help to keep them from moving. I know that the biceps should be centered with the shoulder bell but what is the general consensus regarding how far down from the shoulder bell they should be? I think I recall hearing that they should be sitting about an inch below the bell but I wanted to make sure before I start on this part. Thanks ahead of time!
  4. Hey Everyone! Hope you're all having a great weekend! So my soft goods finally arrived and I decided to try everything on and get some pics! I ordered the soft goods back in February and have since lost about 15lbs so there are some slight adjustments that are going to need to be made. Mostly simple velcro placement changes. I'll be going to my Garrison's build party at the end of the month and should be able to get those fixes knocked out. Things to take note of that are glaringly off in the pics: Bicep Armor - Straps were still too loose so they slid down. I re-strapped them earlier this evening and they now stay in place. Cod/Belt/Bund/Pouches positioning. I know this is off, I've got to get some sewing done to secure the velcro that will hold everything in place where it belongs. Boots - Currently MIA. Ordered them from Crowprops a few days ago and they are currently in production. Weathering - I'll be starting on some light weathering this week Misc - I'm taking a lot of pointers from Choppers thread about "keeping your costume together while trooping" and will be applying the tips here and there. Please let me know what you think of my build so far and if you see things that are off that I haven't mentioned or have any advice, tips, etc please don't hesitate to let me know!
  5. Hey everyone! Just wanted to post up some pics of my build. Some more pics are on the next post as well. Happy to report that my soft goods should be shipping in the next few days and I also got a pair of Kingshow 1180 Wheat boots and will be starting on that part of the build this weekend. Please let me know what you think of the armor so far and if there is any glaring things that you'd recommend changing up please don't hesitate to let me know!
  6. Just wanted to post some pics of my build as it stands! Please disregard the non regulation jeans,t-shirt, watch, and sneakers as I'm still waiting for the soft goods to arrive. Also these were taken before I attached the shoulder bell straps so they are a little out of place in these pics. Tank decals are also currently being applied.
  7. So per advice here I ended up picking up the Rusto clear semi-gloss to keep in line with the Rusto flat black. Tomorrow will be a solid 5 days of letting the flat cure and the weather in my area should be opportune for doing an initial coat of the clear. Def going to apply it from a good distance to avoid running and other potential issues. I'll post up some new pictures on Monday or Tuesday once the initial coat or two are dry!
  8. Hey man! So this is just due to my poor lighting ha! I'll do some lighting adjustments and try to get a better pic for ya. That desk its sitting on is black as well. I think its the lamp that I have at my computer desk distorting the actual look. I'll go the safe route and pick up the Rusto clear instead like you suggested.
  9. Thanks for the suggestion! I never would have thought to factor that in. I'll def give it the time to fully cure.
  10. Hey Everyone! Just had a quick question pertaining to doing a final clear coat on my EC-17. So my blaster is currently looking very nice with its 3-4 coats of Rustoleum flat black primer/paint. It was recommended that I finish it off with a coat or two of Krylon Clear Acrylic coating. I was able to grab a can of Krylon UV-Resistant Clear Acrylic Coating and was wondering if anyone has used this in the past to add that final layer of protection to their blaster? The cap has the word "gloss" printed on it and I would like to add a layer but I don't want it to jump too far into the realm of looking too too glossy, really just want a light addition to compliment the flat black. Attached are pics of the clear spray and my EC-17 in it's current paint form (no clear finish applied yet). Thanks ahead of time!
  11. Thanks Scot! Much appreciated! I'll definitely be reaching out. Thankfully we have some pretty good tailors in my area that should be able to make any adjustments to the soft goods once they arrive. I also now have my DLT-19X and EC-17 in hand and I'm in the process of picking up the mats that I'll need to do the finishing, painting, and detailing. As far as the boots go, I think I'm gonna take a swing at doing them myself with the help of the tutorials and my local buddies. I LOVE getting the opportunity to learn all of the new skills that come along with these builds and I'm super excited about it. Thanks for the pics, hopefully I'll end up looking as sharp! I'll post some pics up here soon as well. I was waiting to have a few more things completed first but I figure I'll just post up what I have finished in the meantime.
  12. Hello Pathfinders! I wanted to use this space to introduce myself and keep you up to date on my TB build. My name is Avi and I'm so happy to be here! Just a little bit about my 501st journey and I'll keep it quick. I have an approved TK but it was built pre-pandemic and during that time I gained the "covid 40ish pounds" so I'm just unable to stuff myself into armor that was built for a 200lb Avi. That being the case I decided that it was time to go with my true calling which is TB! Ever since I was a kid the Scouts were my favorite so why not pull the trigger and go down the next rabbit hole, right? My TB build is currently in progress and the gears are turning! My bucket is RS Props, my armor is SC, and my soft goods are KriptonTop. My Carida buddy Chad (TB-61610) has been helping me with my build. My EC-17 is in the works from Holeintheground. My new Carida buddy Aradun was kind enough to print my DLT-19X. Super big thanks to Aradun and Chicken Walker for this, it means so much to me that you both are so willing to take the time to help make this happen! My armor is about 90% completed. Whats remaining is attaching the chest/back armor, and the belt. I'm still waiting on the soft goods to arrive and once they do I'll be able to see if any extra tailoring work will be needed. After that it's down to the boots! I would really like to follow the tutorials provided here to build my own. The learning opportunity that comes with that process is very valuable to me and I'm looking forward to it. I'm so looking forward to getting out there and trooping, bringing some happiness to the community, and doing what I originally wanted to do that got sidelined by the last few years! Thank you all ahead of time for the knowledge that you pass on in this forum, it means so much! I'll post up some pictures soon!
