Thanks again @BikerScout007. I have already asked Chris about the cost of ordering all the parts from him, so now I’m just weighing options. I have also looked at some of the pinned posts on the soft parts section in the armory, as you mentioned they look pretty doable. The cummerbund in particular does sound really simple as well 8”tall and length depending on size it sounds like. Would there be any patterns I could possibly look at?

Hello everyone! I’ve been wanting to dip my toes into serious cosplay, and so I’ve been looking into the various avenues to get started. Namely, whether or not to order a commission for soft parts (cummerbund, flight suit, vest, boots, etc) or try my hand at making them? I’ currently have downtime to dedicate my self to this, though I don’t exactly know how to sew. Would it be easier/cheaper to modify and make my own soft parts or just commission someone to do so? And should I consider making my own soft parts, where should I start?
