  1. Does anyone have suggestions on sanding methods? Should I be doing it all by hand or is there a point where a power sander would be handy?
  2. The armor is now in my hands! Base helmet, visor, face plate, chin strap, and 2 pins are what I have to work with now. Now starts the sanding. Oh boy…
  3. Hey again everyone, I have completed the printing for the Scout helmet. Next phase is sanding! Any tips on the sanding process?
  4. Hey y’all, So this is my first time building ANY costume at all, let alone a 501st armor build. I’ve started with the 3D printing for the armor, and I’d welcome any tips and comments along the way. Starting with the helmet first.
  5. Is there a guide somewhere on how to attach these in the helmets? I have no idea where these would go even if I had them.
  6. Awesome! And yes. Like attaching the details to the snout, attaching the front plate of the helmet to the dome, etc
  7. Gotcha. That helps a lot. Any preference/tips for the visor? And what about attaching all the parts?
  8. Awesome. Sorry for all the questions, but is PLA allowed for 3D printing? Or does it have to be ABS?
  9. Thank you! I’m not sure how much you know about this, but I found a file on Etsy that claims to follow 501st specs and costs much less than Jesus Salmeron’s files. Can you verify? https://www.etsy.com/listing/1022410970/star-wars-return-of-the-jedi-scout?click_key=c8367a02e1bd310b74f10d24fbaede97a3a7675c%3A1022410970&click_sum=b39e972e&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=scout+trooper+stl&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&organic_search_click=1
  10. Thank you so much! This is very helpful. Is there a good resource y’all use for the decals and/or internal padding? Is there a specific way the internal padding needs to be done?
  11. Hey all, I’m finally making my dream a reality, and starting work on my ROTJ Scout Trooper armor set. I’m really excited to get started. Me and one of my friends are gonna start with the helmet soon, which will be 3D printed. As I’m a total noob when it comes to armor making, I would be most grateful for any and all tips and tricks from people here who have printed their own helmets!! Thanks and MTFBWY!
