Thanks @Chopper I have no idea why i thought the thigh patches came so far up the back LOL Thank you for the reference photos. Thanks for confirmation on sateen cotton. Very cool to have preferred options rather than must be. 😄- 19 replies

Working on thigh patches. This is what i ended up with. Would anyone be able to confirm to me that this looks right or what i need to do fix it? As well as been researching the cummerbund and codpiece. I am having trouble sourcing merceriser cotton or "polished" cotton. Would a sateen cotton work for lancer? THANK YOU VERY MUCH 😃- 19 replies

MANDARIN COLLAR TIME! Step one: Put on flight-suit and flick up collar Fun fact its actually too high on me, my chin is up but if i had made a mandarin collar like this i would choke... So i simply pinned and sewed it down 1 cm. After i had sewn it. Then i took my excess pocket material and placed it on the front area of my neck to cover the gap and make it square. All pinned in place All sewed in and Velcro is how i open and close the collar. I haven't sewn the Velcro in place yet as my husband will do that at his workplace ( he has an industrial leather sewing machine at his workplace) so i don't ruin our basic one at home. That is the Mandarin collar all complete!! Quick preview of what's next: My pigskin leather came in!! It is 10FT! 😃 For my Aussies especially those in QLD Gold Coast to Brisbane Area I ordered these from East Coast Leather in MT Cotton. Yes i know i could have driven there rather than order online but i was lazy so sue me 😛- 19 replies

Cass's ROTJ Biker Scout Build WIP

First step to my modified flight suit....unpicking!! Unpicked the back pocket, this suit only has one. I unpicked a weird side pipe pocket (it was very narrow). I sewed shut the side pockets and then cut off the pocket material on the inside. I also unpicked both flaps of my chest pockets and took pliers to remove the snap buttons. I still have some time left in my spare spare time so i decided to start altering it. First step cut it into half! Why? I noticed when putting this on that i have to raise the waist line to my body as it sat far to low. The easiest way was to cut in half. Once cut in half i pulled the pants on and pulled it up so that it sat like normal pants, then pinned in place. This allowed me to see where it will sit so i can pin the sides in and hem it to my ankles. As you can see it needs a fair bit taken in. But i did have to order this size due as i am large in my belly area (not ashamed just telling it like it is). All pinned in placed ready to be sewn up. That white part is the sewed off pocket ( you can't see it on the suit). Once the pants were done it was time for the top half. Which follows the same thing as the pants, trying them on and pinning in place where i need to take in. Its important to note that when taking things in you don't make it too tight. When i pinned my pants, i then carefully rose my legs, practised sitting and kneeling . This makes sure i am still able to do full movements when i am in my full armour. For the arms, i bend them, raised them up and crossed my arms. After i sewed everything i then retried them both on and repeated the same movements. At this point i was also making sure there wasn't any baggy areas. I was very happy with the result so i moved on. I personally feel if i take in any more i wont be able to move. Next step: re-attaching both pieces to make one flight-suit Very simple process (i forgot photos). Put on both parts of the suit and then once i have everything repositioned i then pin and sew in place. Before this i have unpicked the waist "belt" line. Then i reattached the waist belt line which has a tiny amount of elastic hidden in to help take off stress of the suit when moving, since its a thicker material. Heres the result of the steps so far. So i moved to a different light to try and capture the chest pockets being more invisible and flat than they were. Very happy to say that is looks 1000 times better and you wouldn't know that this baby got sawed in half! Now before some people come at me for re making it a one suit and not a two piece.... I had issues keeping it two pieces. It was uncomfortable, every time i walked, it moved too much and i felt i was constantly fidgeting in it. There was this weird fake line it created and i hated it. Once i made this back into one suit, all those issues disappeared. I feel comfortable in it and when i moved around i wasn't fidgeting with it. Next update: the mandarin collar ( i saved my unpicking material pieces)- 19 replies

I just want to confirm before purchasing. Thank-you!- 19 replies

Hey M.J Thank-you! I am going to try out for lancer status so i needed a one piece flight-suit. I've read the threads about pros and cons of one piece vs two piece, i am not too concerned about bathroom breaks, i never go to the bathroom in my jawa, even in smaller troops, i will always change into my regular clothes. That being said who knows, i might find it too difficult but i want to try first.- 19 replies

We have Rit available! and a few other brands depending on material. I didn't even think about dyeing! I've got a tiny amount of experience from my offworld jawa. Ahh well maybe next time!- 19 replies

First post of many. This will be a long build mainly due to my helmet on order from temple armoury (aussie based vendor), temple armoury is run by past 501st members who make some helmets as their hobby. Their helmets are great quality and they come highly recommended by my fellow garrison members. The only downside is that there is so much demand for them, there is a massive waitlist, but i am chill with waiting. However i am so excited to build my scout so i decided to work on the rest of the costume while i wait! My first step after extensive researching was to buy my flight suit. I wanted to buy rather than make from scratch because one time i tried to make pants and well it was bad...very bad. This is technically a coverall but it matches the required description. Now do you know how hard it is to source a BLACK coverall/flight-suit in Australia? It is near impossible! At the time i was concerned about USA shipping due to USPS not delivering but from my thread here and the help of you wonderful members, i now know UPS is delivering! YAY In Australia locally you can find orange, white, NAVY, green and grey coveralls but no BLACK! I bought this from dicksmiths website, sourced from who knows where LOL. It took about a month and half to arrive. It is HILARIOUS how big this is on me! 🤣 I had to order this size though to fit my hips in 🙈 Yes this is going to need a lot of altering but i am okay with that. I am pleased with the colour and the quality though which is my main focus. Update next time i start the altering process....🙃

ROTJ - Biker Scout
Meowied_Cass replied to Boy Scout of Endor's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Only just started, i have bought a flight suit to modify but waiting on it to arrive. Ordered a helmet and that's it. I'm just researching and finding where i can buy the materials. It will be a year or two before its finished. For me i am building a scout because i am too short to be a fully armoured character like a TK. I also have tattoos so i need costumes that cover my whole body. Unfortunately postage is very delayed which is why i estimate a year or two to complete. My Jawa takes me one week LOL but mostly because i can source everything locally. Definitely get in touch with MJ from your garrison if you have any building/crafting questions, she is amazing. Helped me with my Jawa build as well. Or post here, they are very welcoming and very knowledgeable. -
Opps didn't even realise i spelt it wrong. LOL. Yeah MJ covered it. They make the helmets for fun so while there is a huge waitlist, they don't take payment from you until the helmet is ready. That way if your circumstances change or you buy elsewhere you aren't losing anything. Plenty of people ready to snatch up the helmet if someone pulls out. They came highly recommended by my garrison members. My soon to be ex GCO cyclops has one himself as his approved biker scout so i am confident in quality. I am unsure if they meet lancer requirements though. I'll be a doing a build thread eventually so when it arrives in a yearish time i'll be sure to post lot's of pictures.

I'm building a scout too (but just started) notice your in Victoria and i feel your pain. BUT UPS is delivering to Australia its just delayed (may take longer). All the best with your build though!!! -
Hi everyone, Thank-you so much. I personally contacted UPS and they said services are normal but delayed which is new normal now. USPS definitely not for now... I'll contact and see if they post through UPS. @M.JThanks! No hurry for this build, my helmet is on order from temporal armoury and that will take most likely a year to arrive (huge waitlist). I just like collecting and building what i can.

Australia’s service disruption affects Priority Mail International® (PMI), First-Class Package International Service® (FCPIS®), Commercial ePacket (CeP), International Priority Airmail® (IPA®) packets, International Priority Airmail® (IPA®) M-Bags, International Surface Air Lift® (ISAL®) packets, International Surface Air Lift® (ISAL®) M-Bags, and Airmail M-Bags. Thats from USPS i am pretty sure that is all international package options. So i am very concerned about ordering from US currently. Thank-you to all who have replied!!

https://auspost.com.au/service-updates/international-service-updates On Australia post they say they aren't delivering. Personally i am waiting on three packages and i haven't received them and they all from America. So i wanted to avoid those troubles with building my scout. But i checked the UPS website and it appears they may delivering to us? I'll have to get in touch with the senders again

Hi all, Been researching for my future Biker Scout ROTJ and i was hoping someone could help me with gloves. Does anyone know where i could buy this from an Aussie supplier? USA is not shipping to Australia and it's been like that for months and i do not see it changing. 😭 The other soft parts i can make from scratch but the gloves...i do not think i could alter a leather pair to be screen accurate and approvable. The builds thread from my garrison are literally all from wampa wear which i would love to order but it wouldn't arrive ever. Any help appreciated. 😃
