  1. Do these forearms look approvable or should I trim them more? And/or should I bondo where it all meets together?
  2. Oh yes I've actually been following your build too for inspiration! And with the Montana Gold I realized that once you get in much closer than you would with any other paint it works like a dream. (That's for any other future shore troopers!)
  3. Awesome! I am absolutely loving this build and getting to work with the Montana Gold spray pants is a total blast. I'm sure I'll eat my words when it comes to the abdomen/belt though.
  4. oh another question i thought of! is there a spacing guide for the yellow marks on the red bicep armor?
  5. Finally got some painting in, in between packing for Japan 👀 also a question! Is it required to add additional layers of plastic in the inside where the two parts meet? Applies to both the forearms and biceps I guess. Or is it just better to have it reinforced like that? And would I use bondo to seal it all together or just ca glue?
  6. I’m getting the hang of the Bondo process! This always felt very daunting so I’m proud of myself for doing it.
  7. What kind of foam are y'all using for padding on the inside of say the gauntlets? cheap Michaels foam? and what would be a good glue for such a material? Thanks!
  8. Thanks, Joe! just a rougher grit like 100 maybe to knock it out?
  9. Next steps! Bondo and sanding said Bondo. Any tips on getting a nice smooth finish? I’m using a dremel to sand it down.
  10. I had a total blast painting the other shoulder piece and I’m super happy with how it came out! I hit it with the gray aging spray, as well as a very light misting of black.
  11. Well, this turned out like bantha poodoo. Any tips on getting straight lines? Also noticed the bottom line is heckin crooked 🙃
  12. Gotcha! Okay moving along then. Sanded the shoulders and hand plates, then briefly debated making a chocolate trooper before moving on to Sahara Beige. I'm also using liquid latex for the weathering. I went a bit too heavy on the hand plate weathering so ill add some more Sahara beige to it.
  13. Ok looks like it's easy to add pics then. I unfortunately don't see how my thread is different from a standard build thread. Maybe I'm just too dumb for it.
  14. Still trying to figure out how to best upload pics on these forums as all mine are too high resolution. but I’ve done a test run of paint / weathering on the hand plates to get a feel for things. I think I went a bit too heavy on the latex weathering so I’ll probably paint over it a bit more. I’m still waiting for my aging spray to come in that’ll lessen the contrast between Sahara beige and the dark brown undercoat. overall I’m very happy with how the first paints have come out! I’m also waiting for the rain to stop so I can continue painting the shoulders https://imgur.com/a/HkJ098N
  15. Thanks! I've been in Joe's ear a bunch already about my build!
  16. Hello there, fellow pathfinders. I'm Will from the Golden Gate Garrison, BH82886. I have a few approved costumes already but have always been tempted by the legendary shoretrooper. Honestly, I could do almost any costume from Rogue One and be excited about it. I've been lurking here for a while but have finally kicked off my Shoretrooper Squad Leader (R1), and have been having a blast on this build so far! Helmet - Mr Paul Soft goods - Darkside Closet Boots - Orca Bay Gloves - Endor Finders Armor - Imperial Surplus
  17. Loved reading your entire build progress! Do you have any further details on how you weather using the acrylic? I'm currently using the same for my weathering. I put the acrylic on the dark brown undercoat, is that what you did and then just peel it when its all painted? Do you clear coat any layers? Thanks!
