Congrats! You never forget your first tree. Unless it was at speed, then you don’t remember much. -

Some greats shots in that latest set! I really need to add some weathering to make it easier to know which is me. 😅 -

Seriously, huge shout out to @BikerScout007. That was fantastic and just the cell phone shots I’ve seen so far are great. Can’t wait to see what the film commission photographer got. I was lucky enough to have this weekend as my first troop, and I look forward to trooping with all of you in the future. -

I thought I was on the interest list but realized I never got an email. Just submitted to the list again in case I wasn’t already on it. 🤦♂️ -

All comments so far have pretty much focused on the codpiece, so I’m taking that as a good sign that the rest is looking ok, or at least good enough for level 1. I’m open to any additional feedback or suggestions that you all might have. Can’t wait to troop with you all. -

I created a new codpiece that should have a much better shape while working for my dimensions. I also took the opportunity to add stirrups to the legs to wrangle the folds. The cummerbund needs a good ironing. I also just noticed the tags on the gloves sticking out, so I'll fix that too. -

I was doing it the same way as you, just didn't use nearly as much. I was also concerned about there being a gap, so this is awesome. Thanks! -

Maybe I wasn't liberal enough with the hot glue, or I was using crappy glue sticks. Will try it again. Thanks! -

Brilliant, thanks! Just realized I attached my current codepiece just over an inch below intended. Raising it helped loads, but as mentioned the shape isn't quite right. Plus, I think I skimped on the polyfill. Back to the sewing machine I go. -

Can you point me to that Lancer WIP? I haven't come across it in all of my reading. It's not pinned anywhere that I've seen at least. -

I have the tactical padding, which I have on the top, but it's just not thick enough for the sides so the helmet slides around on my head too much. I might try adding some dense EVA foam as stand-offs between the bucket and tactical padding. -

I've added some upholstery foam to my bucket to keep it from sliding around, which works decently, but it can be improved upon. Might look at adding the chin strap to help. Also curious how others are attaching the lens to the bucket. I tried hot glue previously, but it didn't want to stick to the lens much, so using gaffer tape right now. -

I also plan on borrowing some tips from the following post to keep some bits in place. The knee pads in particular won't stay in place. I also need to add some padding to the knee pads as they are really hitting my knee caps. Curious what others have done in that regard. -

When I added the patches to the coveralls I took it in a bunch, but looking at the pictures from behind maybe I need to take it in more. Maybe adding stirrups to the legs will pull the material into the boot more and it won't be so bad. -

I'm not happy with the shape of the codpiece now that I'm pouring over the pictures. Hopefully good enough for level 1, but I do plan on at least raising the stitched arc higher, if not outright redoing the whole thing. Seems like maybe it's just sitting too low which then also causes some bunching in the crotch. I have a long torso, compared to leg length, so that has made some things interesting. -
I submitted this build for approval a few days ago, but the more I look at it, the more I see that I can improve. Some things for accuracy, others for quality of life. Ultimately, I'm aiming for lancer, so I've tried to build to that spec as much as possible. All hard pieces were 3D printed. Bucket STL from ChrisThePropGuy on Etsy. Decent design, but there were holes in the model that I had to manually repair to get it working. Switched to MrPoopie's STLs for the rest of the prints. Decals from TrooperbayShop on etsy. Gloves from Wampa Wear. I'm seriously impressed with these. Coveralls are Red Kap Twill from Amazon. All other soft bits were made by me.

Oh man, I live in Humboldt, and I'm so damn excited for this. I'm racing to get my first armor (ROTJ Scout Trooper) done in time for the event. Being only a month out, getting approval in time might be a long shot. Gonna bust my ass and try though. -
I have wide feet. I mean REALLY wide. The "wide" options in stores is always too narrow. I wear a 4E. Anyone else born with flippers instead of feet have any recommendations for boots? I'd like to eventually go for level 2 certification, but not a hard requirement right off the bat. I prefer to build myself, but if there is a vendor that could cater to my pancake feet, then I'd consider it.
