  9. Got to weathering my cummerband, pouches and codpiece today....As advised in some build threads, I soaked the soft parts in a tub of hot water with 4 sachets of Earl Grey tea for less than a minute and sun dried it...Once dried, I went over the stitch lines with Tamiya Weathering Master brown to highlight them....Also went over the entire cummerband, pouches and codpiece with a wide brush....So I put everything on to see how they look together...In photos, the weathering on the soft parts look a bit darker than the armour pieces....But in person, they don't look that far off...I'm guessing the sheen on the armour reflects the light and 'toned' down the weathering while the matt soft parts shows the weathering as it is.....I'm not too sure, so hope to get some views if this slight variation (especially in photos) is acceptable for a Remnant Scout look? Of course there are ways to remedy this but I hope I dont have to resort to them.....I guess if looking at it in real world terms, different materials gets weathered differently...soft parts gets dirty easier while smoother armour parts less so (I'm just making up excuses [emoji28])....Hope to hear your views on this....Getting a bit anxious...[emoji28] Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  10. Thank you!...That's re-assuring! [emoji120] Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  11. My Steve Altman's helmet came a few days back and I have just completed weathering it...Before I weathered it with shades of brown, I gave it a coat of Krylon Satin clear coat....Tried to be as consistent as I can with the armour weathering....So before I give it another coat of Krylon Satin clear coat to seal the weathering and give it the finishing sheen, would like to get comments from experts here...[emoji120] Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  12. Thank you! [emoji120] Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  13. Still waiting on some items so decided to spend some time to weather up my EC-17 blaster to fit the Remnant look better....Not too heavy but visible enough to see some scuffing', paint chips and desert dirt stuck here and there..... Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  14. Thank you so much! [emoji120] Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  15. Yes, I used Vallejo and FolkArt acrylics as well as Tamiya Weathering Master for the weathering....I like to come up with new ways for strapping, taking into consideration for ease of wearing and storage/transportation... Thank you for the comments! [emoji120] Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  16. Thank you! Can't wait for the other items to arrive to complete this build...[emoji4] Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  17. Some more WIP photos [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  18. I've since finished weathering all the hard parts, including the straps and buckles...Also sharing my other aspects of the build like the strapping and padding. I'm using magnets and velcros for strapping and added the foam to the inside of the armour parts for a more firmer fit to prevent slippage. I'm not thinking of adding velcros to my TI flightsuit as I would still need to troop in my TI. Appreciate any further comments [emoji120] Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  19. Thank you for the assurance! [emoji120] Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  20. Thank you!...That's a relief...[emoji28]....Yes, I have since painted the grey recessed indent on the chest armour. Will post more WIP photos. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  21. Thank you for the warm welcome!...I am already quite advanced in the build process....I'm basically left with only weathering the belt set up....I love the Scoit Troopers (I think they are the coolest!) And the extra appeal for the Remnant version is that I can weather it in a desert style kind of weathering...I enjoy westhering stuff alot but I'm also worried if my style of weathering is acceptable for this build...I use a mixture of browns....acrylics using brushes and also also shading with Tamiya pigments.....I'm going for a bit more weathered look.... I will post more photos of the earlier process of the build and hope what I have done is correct....Would appreciate comments on any aspect of the build....[emoji846] I'm still waiting for my Altman's bucket, Crowprops boots and cummerband to arrive. 22. Hi everyone! Will be sharing my progress updates here to see if I am going on the right track to get my favourite trooper costume approved!...The Remnant version appealed to me more due to the weathered look and also because it uses the TI flightsuit (I'm an approved TI)....So here goes...would appreciate comments/ input from fellow Scouts! 😊
