  1. Thank you Daniel! 😁
  2. @doubledx, thanks my friend, I am so looking forward to trooping with you. 😃 @Omaha Joe, thanks for the kind words. I think both ways of building and weathering are very different but similarly difficult and should be equally appreciated. I think you know that the MEPD's SWAT requirements are about way more than just slapping on some dirt.
  3. Thank you for the kind words. 🙂 I know that they have used rattle-cans on set but as you said, Chopper, trying to recreate a pattern with them seems nearly impossible. Right know, I am happy with the helmet for my collection and not planning to do the rest of the costume too. I rather saw this as a chance to learn something new and as a challenge... which it definitely was.
  4. Hey guys, this is my first scout lid build. I´ve built it from a Strider V5 kit. I´m going to spare you the building pics, I can only say, man, this was a lot of work and has given me a headache several times. I´m one of those dirty MEPD dudes and over there, we are quite crazy about emulating screen-used helmets, that why I have picked one of the dirtiest helmets I could find on screen: Besides the building process, I also had to learn how these helmets are weathered, tried an airbrush system for the first time but it was fun. Still have to get used to it, the final product is far from perfect and a wee bit too dirty... I just tend to overdoing it with that dirt. Not all of the dirt was applied using the airbrush, I have also used paintbrush which I am actually feeling much more comfortable with. For the final touches I just spraypainted an ABS rod black and scratched it across the helmet. And here´s the result, my helmet, always followed by a reference picture of the screen-used helmet. Here are some more shots showing the interior. This was a fun project.. I might even do another one.
  5. Great helmet Björn!
