Drop boxes webbing off-white options?
JohnReillis replied to JohnReillis's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Oh good call, thank you! Yeah from how my pouches looks in hand, compared to the picture, I thiink it'll be ok, it's better than pure white at least! Let's try! -
Hello everyone I've (finally) sent my approval request to the French Garrison, and today they got back to me with a tweak and additional pictures needed. While the pictures are fine, I need a bit of help on the tweak! My pouches are off-white, and my webbing is white, soo I need to change my webbing, but not sure what to grab! Would this one be ok? https://www.amazon.fr/Leduc-poignée-ceinture-bandoulière-maroquinerie/dp/B08YP5Z99P/ref=sr_1_24?crid=1LVKGA4I0QJ7N&keywords=webbing+strap&qid=1707316868&sprefix=webing%2Caps%2C282&sr=8-24 Thank you! Can't wait to get my approval!

Thank you!! Oh absolutely I was looking at either DLT-19 or DLT-19x. Yeah after looking properly I can see a couple of bits off here and there hmm..I'll go ask about the lenght, that's a good point! Thanks for the help!! Edit : Told me the blaster is 1,2m long ,so that checks out ,and apparently he knows of 3 members of the German garrison who uses them.

Back from the dead, and I'll be able to troop very soon, but I have a DLT question! Any opinions on this kit? Sadly don't have time to print myself for now, so if I can at least have a base to work on.. https://www.etsy.com/fr/listing/1066454680/kit-dimpression-3d-dlt19-ou-dlt19-x-petg?click_key=cceb15fc1889202f79c97374d89dae4d062c9147%3A1066454680&click_sum=d27fc5b4&ref=shop_home_active_14&sca=1

Yeah that's my concern, getting it to be invisible is pretty much impossible, with my skills at least. Could it be better than the damages? Who knows..Don't think I'm trying anything unless it gets way worse, or it's being an issue for approval. My helmet is the red label, and it appears like I have a big head 😂 The ABS would probably have more give, so it's not totally out of the question that I get one later down the line, and turn mine into full time display. Scrapping my temples to put it on isn't fun. Thanks for the paint name! Reassuring to know at least!

Thanks man, appreciated!! I was at Generation Star Wars last week end, small Star Wars convention in France, it was great, and it really gave me the motivation I needed to get back properly into it! I think I'll do some tests with magnets for fun, but velcro seems like a relatively easy solution! I'm "worried" that magnet could hang low because of the weight distribution, compared to velcro that are spread over a bigger area, but it's maybe not an issue. And yeaaah...I think I would be scared to do that and screw it up haha 😧 it's a good idea though... Do we know what kind of white paint is used here actually on RS buckets?

Hello again everyone, long time no see! Covid and life happened, I took a lot of delay on my plans of joining the 501st, and sadly took on some weight 😂 So while I'm shedding it, I started planning what needs to be done. 1st, finding a way for my armor to stay in places. I was thinking velcro, classic, but as anyone tried with magnets ? And 2nd..I have a small problem with my bucket. The thing hasn't left it's box since back then, and was well packed in bubble wrap and plastic, and I noticed it has paint scratches at the back. Weirdly enough the paint seems to be stuck inside inn the cardboard, so I have absolutely no idea what happened here... Being very strick with things being in good shape, I'm a bit bummed to say the least! My question is : will it be an issue for approval? It's actually not flaking as much as the image makes it look. I can lighty scratch with my nail and it's not moving, so I'm even more clueless about what happened at all. But it's not like I can paint that back. The inside of my box..Which dosn't make any senses since it's always in the plastic wrap. 🤨

Perfect!! I was thinking about using magnets, but haven't thought about putting them behind the holster, that's perfect! At a convention this week end, I saw one with glued velcro on the guard, and some at the bottom of the holster, but I prefer the magnet solution, it's not altering the look at least. Thank you Rob!

Ahhh good idea thank you! I have some with very small round velcro stickers somewhere, going to search for them and try that!
-
Thanks a lot Yeah really happy to finally being able to dive into it! Oh good idea! I could 3D print one and have a space for a magnet inside 🤔Or maybe I could find a way to put a magnet at the bottom of the holster to hold it by the metal finger guard? Also! My helmet has trouble staying close if I look down! Is there a way to fix that?

And hello again after QUITE a while I finally got my armor! Ordered it during the summer of 2020 for my birthday, it arrived few months after, and I had to send back a couple of parts for some issues that got taken care off entirely by RS props but it ended up being at the same time as their fire incident, so took a bit more time! Thanks to them again for the great service! Yesterday for May the 4th I went outside for a couple of pics! It was my second time wearing it completely so there is a few things not being worn properly I bet haha! Now it's time to prepare / tweak so I can fill my application! -I'll have to add velcro for the leg / arms pieces that are moving around too much! -The blaster isn't really staying in the holster, is there a way to prevent it from falling? It wobble a bit when walking so I'm sure it could just fly out if I take a strong step! Take care all

DLT-20 and DLT-19x print files?
JohnReillis replied to JohnReillis's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Weapons
Yes for sure I went with the other DLT-20 juust because. I like the way it's cut. Although both looks really good to me. So I resized it to match more precisely the size of a real STG-44, using the handle has a guide. And I started testing some small parts from the scope. It's going to be reaaally long to print all of it! And then sanding, etc.. But it's a start while waiting to grab an armor -
Going to be super interesting to follow!!!
