Thanks Chopper. I'm getting my boots and cummerbund from Cheese here on the Forum so I do not actually have a pattern at hand. I'm thinking on just adding and inch or two on the tops of the front patches, do you think that would be enough to on the safe side or should I just wait it out for the bund to arrive? I've got plenty to work on either way so it won't slow me down at all.

Hey, just wanted to get some guidance here. I have the suede purchased but I wanted to get the okay or adjustments on my patterns before I do something I can't undo. What do you all think of the patterns on the suit? Look goood? Needs improvement? Thanks!

Thanks for the input everyone! I went and got some ‘Industrial Black Spray Enamel’ and it looks pretty dang good. One question: it’s kind of rough after it dries, do I sand it down again or is it cool to now highlight/weather?

I'm heading into the final coat of painting for my DLT-20A and I am wondering about the color. I was just going to go flat black but I watched a video saying that black doesn't show details on any sort of film or picture. They suggested using Gun Metal Gray. Below is the tip of the blaster in Gun Metal Gray, the glove is just to show the difference to black. You you all think its okay to keep going or should I go with a darker gray?

Thanks for doing this. I am at the point of doing this and drilling holes in my helmet freaks me out. I will definitely try this first! -
I have an April Storm's DLT as well. I'm on my second priming/sanding phase. What color did you use as your primary color after priming?

Would it be best to just cut those wings just before the curve and sand down? These are for the bicep armor in the post above btw (Had to update the pic). Once I get these forearm pieces done I'l post my finished Knee, Forearm, and Bicep armors. Super excited to finally be getting things done!

Got my forearm armor coming along. I just have one question before getting the elastic and greeblies on. What do you guys say is the best way to get rid of the "wings" on the sides? Do i just cut them off ans sand down the edge or use a heat gun to bend them down? Thanks in advance!

Thus begins the start of my armor build with full intention of going Lancer, eventually. I am starting with the knee armor so that I can then get the accurate measurements for my suede riding patches. These are some pics of the knee armor, rough cut and sanded. I'm looking at some more refinement but I am looking for any advice, pointers, or information at all. Thanks in advance! https://imgur.com/vXDqrqv https://imgur.com/grVNjFk https://imgur.com/qtGUNvJ https://imgur.com/WGxcJEi https://imgur.com/wQIAlZG

I was wondering if I could do that, thanks!

I just got my CfO/Strider box yesterday! I'll be starting a WIP as well in a few days so consider yourself stalked!

So Big Brown Box day has descended upon me and I am both excited and terrified. I am looking to do my knee armor first to get my boots started and then the belt and chest armor to start the cummerbund. I know the CRL says 20mm (3/4") elastic for the bottom part of the knee armor and 12mm (1/2 inch) for the top part. Here's my two fold question: 1) What brand of elastic have you all had the most success with? 2) How do you secure the elastic so it doesn't unravel once it's cut?

I have one of these. https://www.amazon.com/Under-Armour-HeatGear-Tactical-Black/dp/B00RWF2Q8A/ref=sr_1_28?crid=3T888LTU8CEH5&dchild=1&keywords=under+armour+heatgear&qid=1581409792&sprefix=under+armor+heat+gear%2Caps%2C162&sr=8-28 It goes mostly down to the intersection of my neck to my shoulders, well enough under the under suit's collar to ensure that no skin shows. It's thin and stretchy but I have not had an opportunity to test how well it works as "heat gear" but so far I am liking it.

I've been working on my build for a few months (waiting on armor to get made and shipped) now and this is the first time I've even seen that little gray box on the chest. Wow I'm blind, thanks for pointing that out!
