I’m calling it finished (after i paint the ears). 😆 now on to the armor.

opted to try an airbrush for some of the weathering. Is it too heavy? I'm still trying to decide if i want to scratch it up with some sand paper too.

The resin works for well for getting rid of a lot of layer lines in the beginning.

First Time ROTJ Scout Trooper Build (3D Printed)
cdraudt17 replied to Cpt_Chops's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
This thread gives me hope! I'm in the process of printing everything out. Yours looks fantastic! -
thats great to hear! I have been using Rustoleum gloss white and will finish up with the gloss clear coat.
-
I have been working on repainting my helmet. Does the finish need to be absolutely mirror glossy, or would this pass? Keep in mind, I have not applied a clear coat yet. There is still shine to the helmet, but a little bit of texture too. Do I need to wet sand or anything?

My printer crapped out on me for a while, so I took a long break from printing parts. Finally got things up and running again and have been trying to finish things. Got a good chunk coated in UV resin and smoothing will come next.
-
Any pros out there, could you give me some input on the chest? I’m hearing that the detail may be a bit too sharp. Should I sand it down a little?

Ender 5 plus and I am using zyltech petg. I wanted something a little more heat resistant. Shoretrooper is my next project.

Started printing out the Mr Poopie armor files. So far I have the chest front and the forearms. Chest has been coated in resin as a first layer for covering print lines. This was my first time trying that rather than bondo glazing and spot putty. Seemed a lot easier. Forearms came out with a couple of issues but will be cleaned up and should be ok.

I am looking in to soft parts now. What is the word on KriptonTop? Could their soft parts be approved for level 2?
-
Like a genius, I put on some of the decals prematurely. I really didn’t want to paint again, but I want it done right. This thing is going to be the death of me. 😆

Just putting the finishing touches on my Jesus Salmeron helmet. I have a little cleaning up to do, considering the visor cracked a little bit. Is my weathering too heavy?
-
So far so good. I picked some up from trooper bay. I ended up repainting the face portion of the helmet, so I haven't put those decals on quite yet.
-
@BikerScout007 do you know of any good weathering tutorials for the ROTJ scout?
-
Perfect! Thanks so much! I really dont want to screw it up.

I am putting the finishing touches on my Jesus Salmeron helmet and am getting ready to put on the decals. Is there any specification on exact placement, or do I just eyeball it compared to other helmets?

BikerScout007's Shoretrooper Officer Build!
cdraudt17 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Shoretrooper WIP
What material are you using to print? -
Thanks @BikerScout007 and @Minimo for the input. I'm a bit OCD about things like that too, Mickey. They seem like they are things that could be fixed. I have been eyeballing the helmet you posted too.

Skull Trooper Helmets recently posted a helmet for sale. Its made of fiberglass and the price seems right. Based on the pictures, does it seem like it could be approved?
