  1. Calling the helmet DONE... .....now onto the rest of the armor, this time in PETG (which is amazing!)
  2. I will work on the darker black weathering this week, try to figure out a good way of getting it into the nooks and crannies without it wiping out. --- Lol, that being said, I have spent the last 15 years in the military and never once dabbed my gear clean, we wipe it with the closest thing we have, dirty or clean so streaking is more realistic than floating cloudy "dabbed" areas...but we are talking about a galaxy far, far away and not the real world...so yea, I will work on the weathering once my emblem paint comes in the mail and I can spray that section. Appreciate the feedback, one step at a time, learning as I go.
  3. Its 50/50 acrylic and water mixed raw umber. I put it all over and then wiped away with tissues to remove the heaviest material, leaving the faint brown "dirt". I will work on getting some thicker black into the nooks and crannies and maybe cleaning up some of the heavier areas. Its not super dark in person, it looks pretty much the same as you see it. --- As for the level, right now I would be happy just getting initial approval. This is my first time with a set of armor and 3D printing too...still learning everything as I go.
  4. All painted up...is the weathering too much?? Awaiting my stencil to come in the mail for the visor emblem. Before Weathering After Weathering
  5. Waiting on my lens to arrive from the UK...god thing Im kind of patient and have other projects to keep me busy... Will add the black accents with my airbrush tomorrow and start weathering and fitting out the inside. Questions: Any good reference pictures of the chin strap setup for Lvl 2? I also bought a clearance Raleigh baseball helmet chin cup, think this would this suffice? Any good reference pictures for this part of the CRL: (Optional) Under the blaster shield and above the lens, there is the black recess curve, at each end there are 3 oblong shaped recess each 5mm x 3mm.
  6. Easter Bunny came early this year and dropped off a Chocolate Shoretrooper Bucket
  7. Thank! I just sprayed the filler primer...when its all dry I will take more pictures and upload them and post the pics properly. I am waiting to buy some PETG before starting on the armor, using my leftover PLA right now to print a Master Sword and then I will hit up MicroCenter for the PETG.
  8. Finally completed printing everything!! I am still learning the trade, I bought this printer specifically to make armor, lol, but I am pretty satisfied with the results. - Finally have it all assembled after 2 weeks of printing here and there. https://imgur.com/awf14fJ - Painted with a cheap Krylon I had laying around until I could get out of the house to buy a filler primer. https://imgur.com/l2Pwfyz - Using up the last of my Bondo Spot Putty/Glazing Putting to fill seam lines https://imgur.com/Z9jkxgb https://imgur.com/q1OZRm8 https://imgur.com/kJYqCev - Sanded down the first time, bought a can of Rustoleum 2 in 1 Sandable Filler Primer and a new tube of Glazing putty yesterday, will do another round if filling and sanding and then onto the final primer layer. https://imgur.com/ddqSZKg https://imgur.com/CNOeeT0 https://imgur.com/pEiUOji
  9. Hello!! Long time lurker, but getting my build finally started...I got a 3D Printer about a month ago and I have played around enough where I feel comfortable starting this project. As I type this, my Sean Fields helmet is being printed downstairs in the garage. I have about 50% of the pieces done right now, hoping to have them all done in the coming weeks. Once I have everything printed and paints purchased, I will revisit this post and post the pictures of the official start of the build! But until then...wish me luck!!
  10. Oh to be a Chinese urban explorer right now...could you imagine stumbling onto that rusting shipping container, forgotten in the back of some storage yard somewhere??
