  1. Hello! I am trying to fix my collar for my scout. In the photo my flight suit has the bottom collar and I need it to be the top. Any advice on how to do that? Thanks!! Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  2. Update! Through pure sheer of determination I've extended the abdomen armor to fit me. I used a variety of signs and bondo, sanding the bondo down with my orbital sander, and hoped to the emperor it all held together. It seems like it did! I'm very happy with how its turned out. Hopefully it's good. Question now is... how am I extended the other parts and how do I attach the back plate? Lol! All of the soft parts were ordered 4 weeks ago and based on estimate delivery dates, if I finish my armor in time I'm looking to be submitting for approval by the end of May. 3. Ah! Yes I know the American equivalent. Thanks ^-^ Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  4. Sorry! New to this totally. What is p38 and where does one get it? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  5. Update: After trying to get a bunch of squad mates to help me and coming up short... I went to home depot for inspiration to kind of force my way through extending my armor. I used the above video as a small guide to jump off of and started. I cut a sign to put inside the abdomen and did a test sizing with clamps to see where it will all sit. I'll be doing more work on this in the coming days trying to make it seamless. Still trying to figure out how I'm going to shim out my arm and leg pieces... Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  6. Update: it's been a slow moving couple weeks. Every thing is painted and ready for weathering but I still need to extend my armor. I've seen a few techniques but really dont trust trying them myself without help. I've been bounced around between members of my squad so hopefully one of them can actually help me at some point or else I'm at a standstill with my Shore. In other news I've put in an order for a Scout Trooper. Once I start getting pieces of those I'll start a build thread over in the scout section. Here's a photo of some painted bits. And also a photo of where the abdomen comes around. It doesn't quite clear my body and the plate definitely doesn't fit. So I'm pretty frustrated and discouraged in general, but I'm pulling through. 7. Hello! I need help knowing what to do to extend my fiberglass (tripon) armor to fit me such as my abdomen piece. I was told to buy sheets of abs plastic (I did) and then wasnt told what to really do next. I'm very knew to prop building so I've got no clue what to do. Do I just line the ABS up directly to the fiberglass and just use bondo to connect the pieces? Do I overlap? I'm not sure. Thanks! Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  8. Could you tell me how you extended your armor? I'm still not entirely sure on the full process of it Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  9. Update! All the base painting is finished and ready for weathering...however not really. I've decided to not put off finishing this til I lose weight as that will be a slow process. So I'll be extending my armor to fit me. Luckily I have a friend in the legion who extended their kit when they got approved and will assist me in doing the same. My process will be basically extended the kit with ABS sheets and filling it with bondo, sanding it down to match the Abdomen in the back and the legs/arms. If anyone has suggestions on having this go smoother feel free to let me know. Will update when starting on that part of the trek. I've decided on ordering my soft parts from DarkSideCloset. They say the turnaround is 6-10 weeks but I've heard others getting theirs quicker so I'm hoping its sooner than later for me. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  10. Yeah. I'm really bad at masking so I free handed the black across the entire helmet. I paint miniatures for my job. However I was wondering if the black under the eyes needs to connect at all. That's what I'm trying to get.
  11. No I meant the black paint when it comes to bridge of the snout.
  12. I've hit a small bump in the road. The blue paint I bought using the recommended paint list here in the forums was sadly... way too metallic. Definitely not the correct color. I was originally thinking about doing level 2, but it isnt a huge concern for me right now so I went and picked up himalaya blue instead to fix it. Also started doing the black detailing around my helmet! Thank you experience with painting Warhammer models! Though I do wonder what to do about the eyeliner when it comes to the bridge of the nose. Any advice? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  13. Resurrected threads! Yay! Yup to conclude this thread I picked Jim's fiberglass option. Though at armor parties I've taken a look at both printed and plastic options and they are really nice and will deff consider them for future armor projects. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  14. Hello! I am a rookie and working on my first set of armor... the Shoretrooper Captain! It is still in progress so I'll update my thread here! Please share your tips and guides for me! I need all the help I can get. So let's start my journey I got my armor back in August 2018 and was super excited to get going and join.... well now its March 2019 and I've finally started! Strange how that works. My kit is by Jim Tripon and I couldnt be happier so far. I finally got Rustoleum Grey Primer and Rustoleum Matte Black on the pieces when I dropped my helmet and shattered the top of the head...ouch. luckily Shaina from Everglades Squad helped me fix her up and we are good as new. Sahara beige is being sprayed on and things are moving! I've done more work in the past week and the past 7 months. Will post with more updates as I move forward. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  15. What do ya'll do to the inside of fiberglass armor to seal up the fiberglass silvers and such? Specific product names? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  16. So in order to get level two for an E-22, I habe to use the actual airsoft gun and gut it? Is there anyone out there you know thst does this I can purchase from? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  17. Hello! My friend and I are just starting to create our Shoretrooper armors. We are very lost on where to start and the forums are large and hard to figure out where to start there as well! I would like if anyone can start me off with some guidance in general with building any set of armor or pointing me in the right direction but I also have a specific question. In your opinion, what plastics are good? I dont like the idea of having a flimsy feeling plastic which is what the kits ive seen on youtube look like. I was looking at etsy for 3D printed ones. Would these be a better option? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
