a free floating tank is cannon its not secured to the armor in any way and its only held on with the elastic! i wear my tank that way ... i cant tell how many times ive been thankful having it like that due to people wrapping theirs arms around you for pics and then drag their arms down across the tank ... the free floating method moves the tank out the way and it springs right back into place or close enough

np, your welcome! let us know how it works out ... or the fix you use

alright so, the square is cut on the visor recessed area ... thats good! what i would suggest is .. ~ making some washers with some scrap abs to pull the visor away from the helmet ... youll put the washer between the helmet and visor and hope you have enough thread to get the nut on to the bolt. if not then you may end up with needing top goto the local hardware store and pickup some new elevator bolts. ~ possibly try grinding the square part away a little bit so, that the bolt is able to sit deeper in the recessed area ~ not sure if you could put the bolt in a vise and hit it a hammer to bend it abit .. just enough to get it sit more even in the recessed area just remember you dont want to cut the square out on the helmet ...

the originals are what is called polished cotton ... anything white, will work though. honestly, i see the best results are when 2 different fabrics are being used ... 1 fabric for the bund and cod pieces and another more rigid/stiffer fabric for the pouches even having slightly different shades in color looks good too ... the flak vest is similar .. can be a polished cotton material or a a black t-shirt works ... theres is a tutorial for the t-shirt method its really up to you and what you feel comfortable using.

that is entirely up to you ... we believe that the screen used bunds had batting throughout the entire piece my current bund only has batting on the front and ends behind the pouches ... the new bund im building will have the entire bund filled with batting i also use about 3/16" thick batting ... seems enough to give a good quilted look

the bolts dont sit exactly flush on screen used helmets either .. the top has a slight gap due to the contour of the hlemet. with a couple other helmets i had there was always slight pressure on the visor when opening it and they never really opened up to far or even stayed opened by themselves. are these the bolts that came with your helmet? are these elevator bolts? whats the maker of the helmet? what does the bolt look like behind the head? if it an elevator bolt with square shaft have you widened the outside (visor) hole to accept the bolts square shaft behind the bolt head?

yessir .. i know theres others scouts ... @Shortstack may know some more?

i have an elastic strap around the calf ... velcro on the side of the flight suit and recently i add an abs support ... its sit on the front edge of the boot and has helped alot

Bondo, filler wont stick to armor plastic
762s replied to THUNDERCAT's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
alot good tips above .. esp, the abs slurry ... once the part is sanded with a real rough grit i use an all purpose bondo(its white w/white cream) ... i never used a flexible bondo or specialty bondo i do use a bondo glazing putty to spread over the all purpose bondo to cover the tiny holes and scratches looks like you may not have the mixture correct ... you could be using either to much hardener or not enough, or the plastic is not roughed/scratched up enough -
armor only orders are shipping those who order soft parts .... its still a waiting game

nothing in the crl level 2 says you have to have X type of armor your honestly saying you would deny someone lvl 2 due to their choice of armor? hmmm🙁

it really all depends on your set up and how the maker designed it i changed mine up abit and now its like this... my cod attaches to my flight suit my belt is velcrod to the cod my bund is velcrod to my vest --- my vest is not as long as most peoples i see around here
