Another very subtle (but important) difference is that at the very base level with the flightsuit, the shadow scout doesn’t need the suede butt flap or riding patch between the thighs. I’m a standard scout, and personally that was the worst part to do yourself lol.

I'll be interested if you find a scope, but that is to convert to a DLT19X, the standard DLT19 is on our CRL as well. have a look at the databank CRL

Thanks for all that feedback Chef! I guess we will wait to see what my GML says overall. I decided a little while ago not to go to lancer, as someone put it to me “those screen used ones were only designed to last a few weeks†- I have been thinking of durability and practicality as best I can with my build :-) Definitely take on board everything you’ve said about the bund, think I might add a bit more material to the top of it (have already added Velcro to secure it to my vest so it doesn’t drag down) Will talk with my seamstress about the legs on the undersuit, will that potentially muck up the riding patch? - planning on pinning it then trying it that way before actually doing the seam
-
First off I will openly say I will be importing my full build thread over once I’m approved, I know I should have leant more on you guys than my local garrison but honestly could not be bothered with posting the same thing multiple times during the process. So without further ado, here we are: Please note the bike is in my back courtyard not on a public road, pretty sure I’d be done quite quickly under our harsh (but safe) Australian road laws haha

Help! Shoulder bell has buckled!
AJay Irish replied to AJay Irish's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Yeah I’m thinking of creating a mould piece from the good bell and see what I can do, but I do not have the technology to do so at my place so I’ll chat with the local boys and see what I can do -
While heating my shoulder bell to round it a little tighter, it’s buckled out of shape :’( looking at the pic below can anyone suggest any techniques to fix this?

Yeah I did try it on, it just sat way too wide on me -

I’ve heard mixed emotions about the heat gun, I think I’m more partial to the water bath idea. -
Chest piece Trimming question

Sort of solved my problem anyway; am taking a wedge out of the corner -
Ok guys, so working with a Studio Creations kit, I am also quite a scrawny guy, so I need to mould the chest piece in at the sides. I’ll upload a pic with this, my question is this: can I trim right back the highlighted lower part to make it a little easier to mould it without buckling it? I really would love to be approved while still being able to do this lol. I need to bring it in about 2cm each side, so it is quite a lot of strain unless I take that edge off.

Say hello to this ugly mug! Haha so: my base tshirt I’m wearing over my flightsuit.l, question is do I NEED to widen the neck? By the letter of the law on the crl it just needs to be a wider opening than my suit, which it clearly is lol. Feedback quickly? Lol
-
Ok guys, this is going up to ask for feedback, I’ve done the templates for my suede patches, let me know what you think. Knee pads were used for sizing up how long I wanted the patches to be.

Very unfortunate mate I've been fortune with my garrison there's a couple of people helping me with the cummerbund and stuff, the boots I have support in doing myself. I'm doing my best to avoid vendors from other countries based on soft goods, they need to fit you properly, and basic measurements really isn't enough, you need seamstresses for this stuff lol. I've got a good friend who is helping me with the suede on the undersuit and the vest as well. Look to people around you, not in the costume world, but people who can help. Once you source all the materials, a good seamstress will be able to do the rest if you give clear enough specs

Alright, well sent him an email, hopefully something comes of it

I did see this thread last night, but given it's so old, and the last three messages on it lead me to believe the seller has disappeared, so wasn't even going to try dig that up.

Will do, yeah I thought welders helmets would be the way to look, so I'll go suss them out tomorrow

Any of our Aussie members know where I can get the correct grey bolts for the helmet? I have an SC helmet already fully assembled, but their shiny silver bolts aren't enough for lancer.
