  1. I have been slowly working ar collecting materials to correct the issues. Some of the fitment issues were due to my shoulder being out of joint at the time the pictures were taken but i can redo those. Unfortunately white cotton webbing in various sizes has been hard to find locally. I had to go with a blend on some parts originally and hoped that would be enough visually. Some other issues have been corrected Im just waiting to upload everything again when its all done unless its ok to submit it here piece by piece? Here are a few completed items. -Knee armor strapping has been changed -Belt box strap was nylon but has been changed to cotton and weathered to match the rest Blaster is also a DVH. I was confused as to the description in the crl. Do i need to add clear lens discs to it or as long as it appears to have a lens is it ok?
  2. - Lancer Request TB-87093 Picture Heavy. Uploading while fiancee is at work and realized I forgot the arms up photo. Can retake those later if required - Costume Details top to bottom -Helmet - Lonewolf -Armor - Studio Creations -Boots/ Gloves - Imperial Boots -Soft Parts - Kryptontop Helmet Chest/Back Bicep Gauntlet Gloves Flak Vest Flightsuit Cummerbund/Cod (velcro tabs at top are removable, just added to prevent saggy bund syndrome) Pouches Belt/Dropboxes Thermal Detonator Knee Armor Boots Action Pic
  3. From looking at the stills and gameplay footage it looks like the armor is essentially the same. As mentioned before it will likely require different gloves or a "variant" of the scout gloves, new bund and the harness webbing with buttpack and control box. Hopefully before the game releases we get some concept art that show more detail. Would be cool to start working on a melee scout to face off against the rebel legion jedi!
  4. Makes sense. Im not asking for everything to be added to the crl though, I was just wondering where the line was between what is still kosher for a scout to carry at an event and what isnt. I have an e11 and want to build a shock grenade for fun, photos, etc. Im just wondering if since scouts do "use" these if thats ok carry at some point at an event or is that a no go? I fully understand the usefullness of crl standards.
  5. So the sad part about finishing a costume is always realizing the fun of further modification is over. Since picking up a decent ec17 and dlt19x Ive been considering adding more weapons to my scout arsenal for variety. I see on the crl that the only weapons mentioned are the ec17, dlt19, dlt19x and dlt20. I was wondering if some of the additional weapons mentioned on wookiepedia were considered canon? Ive seen some pictures of scouts using e11s and a lengends source also mentiones it. Wookiepedia "battlefront 2" mentions shock grenades and recon droids. Obviously I cant just toss these on a belt but are they recognized as scout weapons even coming from a game or would carrying something not covered in the official crl be too out of costume? Im still trying to navigate the world of canon/ non canon. I know bf2 is considered canon but even then some weapons arent listed in the crl.
  6. Hey! Anyone have an updated source for thermal detonator belt clips? I did some scouring of the forums but most links seem to be sold out. Checked amazon but no dice. Anyone have a current hook up for these? This is the last roadblock on my way to lancer..
  7. I found a nice non stick pot that had the save curvature of the faceplate. Set the lens inside and heat away until it conforms to the curve of the pot. Let it cool then glue it in place. Ive done a lens for my lonewolf and ks helmets this way
  8. I ended up going with a size 44. They didnt have large options but it looks like thats what it is. Hopefully its not too small. At the least Ill have to get someone to take it in. Thanks for the help!
  9. Just wondering if anyone has experience with the sizing on these. Im a 34 pant size and want it not super baggy but at the same time not so tight I cant move properly in it.
  10. Awesome! 2 mynocks with 1 stone
  11. I noticed while looking at pictures of the screen used helmets that quite a few use a piece of plastic to join the 2 halves of the visor underneath and act as a reenforcement. Ive been working on my new LW helmet and have been having an issue with the glue cracking at this point and have been trying to find a fix. My question is since the screen used helmets had a reenforcement piece here is it acceptable to use one on my helmet providing its small enough it doesnt detract from the overall look of the helmet and matches the one used on rotj helmets? Would this affect any future attempt at lancer? The helmet Im referring to is the screen used helmet pictures on star wars helmets.
  12. Looking to scratch build myself a dlt19x for my scout. I found some templates from empire props but when they print out its much smaller than 1:1 scale. Does anyone know a good source for printable mg34 or dlt19 templates? Also/ or dimensions of the receiver? LxWxH?
  13. Hello! First time scout here and looking to start out right and build my costume to lancer specs as I go. I purchased the KS helmet and am trying to source parts while I wait for it to show up. Waiting to hear back about the correct snout greeble atm but having trouble finding the 3m bolts for the visor anywhere. I think thats about it for exterior modifications I could find but if anyone has anymore info on bolt sources or if Im missing any info on making the helmet lancer please let me know! Side note its looking like I may be the first scout for the Vancouver island region of BC which is surprising so Im really lookong forward to representing the pathfinders locally!!
  14. Thanks for the link to the helmet thread i totally missed that! And yes Bugz please let me know how the helmet looks!
  15. I read a bit about the nose pieces on the KS helmets needing to be upgraded to get to lancer status. Does theirs come glued on if its completed at the factory? After I posted my original I started finding some complaints about KS quality control but most seemed a few years old. Have they made improvements since? Would you say theres a big difference between the SC and KS helms or is it just a personal preference thing?
  16. Oook so as I wait to get to 5 posts to view to classifieds section I figured Id ask for a bit of advice on armors. Being located in Canada I found Kropserkel and was looking at their selections and it all looks really good, also cuts out customs fees/ etc for me. It seems like alot of smaller troopers prefer the SC kits though. I stand about 5'9 and around 170?lbs. Would a KS kit work or should I go studio creations? I dont really possess the space/ tools to do alot of custom work at home without choking myself with paint or model glue fumes so Id like to get a kit as close to finished status as possible. Next question is on helmet. As above it seems like alot of guys say KS helmets are great (and they look really nice) but still require some mods to get to full repro status. Also it looks like a common complaint is they are on the large side. My hat size is 7 1/2. Ill probably be aiming to get an altmanns from the classifieds since they seem to be regarded as the best but Im new to the scout game so any tips on what else to look for would be great. One easy mod I would like to do to the helmet eventually would be the addition of a mic/ speaker to the nose. How do various helmets measure up for available space inside? Thanks -Eliot
