  3. I tried to have a dress up today but this is as far as my little boy would allow me before I had to take it off again. First time in the Squad Leader. First time in the Rogue Repro gear. I will let the pictures do the talking. Love it. Armour- MPSB. Under suit and Kama- Lance Culpepper. Helmet- Anovos.
  4. Remember Spicy Orange is not the correctly identified colour. It was the closest match from a Pantone colour swatch held next to the real thing in the States. The helmets were painted in the UK so I would think the paints were bought off the shelf over here. I may have confirmation in a few weeks.
  5. Here is my finished "stunt" helmet. Referred to as such mainly because of how beaten up it looks. Forehead plate is bent out of shape and paint is damaged, repaired and damaged again. Lot's of layers of break down to give it some history and hopefully create an authentic screen used and abused finish. Paying close attention to the marks found on the real helmets. My favourite lid so far. 3D files courtesy of Nico Henderson Desert Fare Cosplay
  6. The Orca Bay Brecon Chelsea boot in sand. This color was confirmed by Ardmoor as the shoe that was suppiled to the Rogue One costume dept. I always doubted the sand coloured boot because of how light it is out of the box. Up until now I have used the Havana boot. A misinformed choice I made 4 years ago. That particular boot has to be ruled out as the leather is textured and there is no evidence of that in reference. The boot always takes on a darker appearance accross all reference imagery excect in this one where the boot does indeed look lighter and more in line with the sand colour. Because of this image I have bitten the bullet and bought a pair of the sand. I was thinking on the elk coloured boot but decided against it due to Ardmoors confirmation and I wanted to experiment to see if a good break down would knock the sand colour back. Thank you Katherine Partis. You can order boots from her here. 10% discount with free postage https://katherinepartis.com/ Here are the sand coloured boots before and after break down. The weathered boots are shown with and without a flash. Screen reference along the bottom. I am happy that the sand is correct. The colour match is spot on.
  7. I commissioned Lance Culpepper to make me a Kama. We have paid particular attention to the type of fabric and the thread. Note the puckered seams which is characteristic of the Squad Leader Kama.
  8. I have commissioned a kama for my squad leader build. Can't wait to get it.
  9. Update on where my Squad Leader is at. Waiting on the kama to be made. I have sourced some more appropriate fabric and webbing. This is a recent helmet that was made on commission for a client. Based not he Sandeep Mohan Shoretrooper helmet using the Nico henderson 3D files. Printed, prepped, assembled and painted by myself. Also super exciting is that I have been assisting Lance over at Rogue Repro on FB. We are now happy we have found the correct fabric for the mesh armpits on the ST romper under suit.
  10. Fabric hand made from Lance at Rogue Repro on FB. Can't get better than what he is doing with the romper suit. Looking forward to getting my hands on the finished garment. Chest plate ready for further assembly and paint. Shoulder bells broken down in accordance with the screen used. Had great fun doing these.
  11. May as well put my kama to use. I have a new chest printed and assembled but yet to be installed. Shoulder straps and rigging need to be made up and attached to new chest plate. Give the chest its squad leader designation, break down the bells and make up the belt load out. Kama is already in hand. Couple of weeks and I will be promoted. I must say I love the blue on it and it really points back to the colourful clone trooper armour designs. This is a sample of Lance Culpepper’s hand made fabric. He has sent me a swatch to compare against the MPSB armour. It’s getting to the point where it’s tricky to differentiate between screen ref and my own pictures. Lance at Rogue Repro on FB has nailed this romper suit. This is the under suit my armour has been waiting for.
  12. Well here it is. After over 2 years of waiting to get my hands on this bucket it is done. The Nico Henderson 3D model kit. I've added a vac form lens based on Nico's provided buck, accurate internal padding and some other easter eggs on the inside taken from some reference material I have. Heat sinks developed once again by our talented 3D artist and realised by Luke Daley over at JJ industries with his SLA printer. I have cast these sinks in hard rubber before adding them to the helmet. Printed, built, prepped, painted and weathered by myself. It all comes together to make one exceptional fan made representation of the Shoretrooper helmet. Only second to the ANOVOS and tbh it's hard to tell them apart if you are not looking for the very tiny differences. In many respects it has a lot of things the same as the ANOVOS and offers a few things over it, one of those being the total weight of 925g all in. Feather weight. The next one I make will be available for sale and I will be looking at doing the AT-ACT variant as well. Very pleased to own this. I need to shoot it with the armour for the full effect.
  13. Nico Henderson lid pre break down. Really struggling as to which I prefer. The Anovos or the Nico. What one lacks the other has and vice versa. Side by side it is not easy to tell them apart but in my opinion the Nico looks better because of its sharper sculpt which maks for more authentic weathering. I will show a full comparison and photo review soon. Post break down. Sneek peaks. Rubber heat sinks. We had some BTS images to work from so a precise set of heat sinks were modelled as a replacement set for the ANOVOS. These are compatible with the Nico helmet so I have added them to this build. Smoked grey lenses as per screen used.
