  1. Gun got here a few days ago, resin kit.. good pull but still had to trim, fill and sand a bunch before painting, bored the holes in the blaster tip and both sides of the scope as well. Once again, need to be really close up with the camera to capture the weathering detail
  2. Only for display. Doing a snowtrooper and Boba Fett next
  3. Just finished adding the third addition to my life sized star wars collection, I am just waiting on the holster and blaster which should be here soon but I wanted to show the pics anyways. Special thanks to Chef, Spike, and Chrisx909x from these forums for the armour, helmet, and boots respectively This was a very fun project and I think it is my favourite so far! The weathering doesnt show up on camera very well unless youre like a few inches away so heres an example of the weathering up close
  4. There is basic approval, and then there is Lancer.. it is a step up from basic approval to a much more screen accurate representation.. it is completely optional and up to you to decide what level of accuracy you want to go for. See here http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showforum=63 for the CRL/requirements for basic and lancer, afaik you can build your suit to lancer spec right away which would be recommended but you must pass basic in order to apply for lancer. Applying for lancer is the same process I believe as applying for basic except according to your GML for your location there may be a couple very minor differences in order to be approved. I guess you could call it a rank yea, you get a badge next to your avatar
  5. cool I will contact him.. actually im thinking of getting a full suit elsewhere.. the more I look, the more inaccuracies I am seeing in the SC kit..
  6. aah okay thanks for clarifying that! damn I didnt know that.. I wonder if I should contact Constantin and order one from him..
  7. this pic here, your tube encompasses the entire opening of the plastic part.. are these different detonators?
  8. I have an SC kit,, oh maybe im going crazy I thought in one of your earlier pics that the tube came all the way to the other side of the slot but from this pic it clearly doesnt.. hmm this is a pic from the blu-ray that im looking at and it seems that when on the belt it would pretty much sit up against the belt, but now that i look again i can see that the detonator in the blu-ray pic doesnt seem to be as thick as mine if you know what i mean as in if I were to sit mine face up on a table it would be taller? perhaps its just the angle
  9. hmmm, im a little bit confused.. i have 1 3/8" OD tubing and a cord with the same dimensions as the one you are using.. yet when i wrap it, it is tiny and looks way too small in the detonator.. am i missing something.. are you sure the 1 3/8 is the tubing you used?
  10. Just wanted to put in my two cents here.. I ordered my soft parts from this guy a little while ago, and the communication was great, the quality is outstanding and it fits perfectly. He sent me a very large list of measurements and made it specifically to those requirements... Im not sure what anyone elses experience has been but shipping was well within the time frame and it got here fairly quick considering that it came from Bolivia
  11. Great find! I have been looking around to upgrade my detonator tube and I was thinking ethernet cable but it seems too thick.. Like a previous poster mentioned many of the original pics arent up anymore so im not 100% sure which cable youre referring to. Am I correct that it is this one here http://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-12-ft-16-2-SPT-2-Slender-Plug-Extension-Cord-White-HD-342-417/100672779 that was cut down the middle?
  12. Okay thanks for pointing me in his direction
  13. Thank you oh okay thats great I will check those out. Ohhh I see, guess I have to post some more then haha thanks
  14. Hey all, newbie here.. been lurking on these forums for a little while and finally decided to take the plunge and add a Scout Trooper to my collection. I decided to go with the SC armour kit no helmet and I bought the soft parts made for me from a seller on Etsy.. they seem to be very good quality and fit well. Anyways, I would like to make my kit as accurate to the movies as possible and from looking around here I see that I will need to replace the end caps for my thermal detonator and would also like to get a more accurate tube than is included in the SC kit, I dont have access to the trade forum and my searches online have come up dry, would anybody be able to point me in the right direction for either of those things?
