Cant believe Im still working on the helmet till now... Helmet reshaping is approaching its end... Flip-up mod done... all we need is the mouthpiece and then colour...
-
Sewing sucks... but not done until its done!!! Thin guy issue... those pouches packed closely together when not wearing em... After a marathon, its done, and Im quite happy with it. One step closer!!!
-
Did some more adjustment on the eye shape... looks better Some more soft parts are done..!

Im almost tempted to open a WTB thread for the MB helmet....u know Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Some basic colouring on for the weapon system...
-
Simply using a paint brush, I thought about airbrush and I may consider using it next time. Handpainting can make desired camo patterns much easier... but more time consuming indeed

Thank you!! Instead of smearing it with sponge, I hand painted the green and brown for the outlying shape first, then comes the sponge for the roughing up the edges. For the chrome, I used the hairspray technique.. just spray a coat of hairspray on the spot u want the chrome to show before spraying the khaki base colour, then use a brush with some water to stratch of the khaki and the chrome base will show! Some others I used sandpaper stratching... Enamel black stains.. etc. Still looking into more better ways of colouring!

Not the best yet But Im quite satisfied with the effect! Used nearly four tones of green.. This guy is my reference! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Its been quite a few busy days... While I finally got time to have a break.. I moved on to a little trail on somethin else.. Primed one of the shoulder and Chrome Sprayed it... damn thats shiny! After that, I put on a coat of base colour...

Not much time today so just did some quick sanding... Its getting there...
-
Ahhhh... Maybe Im too focused on thr 60grits... great point! Will try later with 120grits and on and on..!! Thanks for the tip! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

added some Ca glue in the mix to increase its strength... Question!!! Should I apply more layers of bondo or shld I sand em smooth with 60 grits?? Feels a bit messed up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
Strips used to hold the tank inside... still plenty of gaps Its harder than I saw... just a first layer of bondo... tons of sandings and more work to do
-
nearly there... for the helmet only Tried a bit coat of primer, still tons of work to do
-
More progress... Starting to look like one from the cgs.. but still more mods to do..
-
So actually... What we are going to do today is that we decided to mod the hell outta the helmet... We are trying to re create the original screen-accurate helmet the best we can from this amazing helmet and that means... TONS OF WORK I must say I have zero experiences in modding armors and Im definitely a first timer to bondo... so bear wif me trimming off parts (not the whole eye) And now.. Smearing the bondo ( Based on our observation, CGI Kashyyyk trooper has wider face and some details... Im trying my best to recreate em) and... and the original helmet I guess Ill get more layers of bondo until they are smooth... much more sanding to do..But thats all for now.. I got like 3 hrs before I go to work... Gah! Please let me know what you guys think!!
-
Thats why I like armor building.. you just immerse youself in it !!! Thanks man still a long road up ahead!
-
Time to get off my butt and do some real work...!!! Start with the shoulder... And... yes. I am going to experiment on my shoulder with some bondo.. smear..smear...Quite interesting to use but it does smell... a lot After some much sanding and it really works like magic!!! Chest piece using ultrasonic cutter... yes its late night and dremel is forbidden.. And... whoosh! I guess thats all for tonight or Im gonna collapse..
-
Well I ordered my pairs of Crow6 boots earlier... But just for fitting, I will try to have some replacement boots in hand! What do you guys think of these?
-
Juz did some colour matching for the camo today... and this.. Actually how did you guys mark the tank plate in the correct size?... Its so confusing and I cant get the right size at all..
-
And.... The Big Brown Box of happiness... I mean swampiness.. Arrives!! Thanks to the kit from bikerchick, everything is in great shapeToo late in the night to start trimming, have to wait till tmr to start the cutting
