Yes Lancer is in the plans. The boots were made with this in mind(boot cuts in the sole). As for the other parts I already foresee myself remaking items already. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's it!!!! I think I am done. Cheesewhoopy has been very helpful with his guidance for my build. Let me know what you thinks. FYI I am reinforcing my pouch mounts and will be shortening my shoulder bells by about 1.5 inches this weekend.

The COD is done. The picture shows the top as being crooked but it's just the angle that I took the picture from. I was able to find buckram at Joanne's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was procrastinating on making the soft armor, worried I would screw it up. But after getting the Bund done and the COD shell complete I feel I was getting all worked up over nothing. I am looking forward to doing more work tonight, and the plan is to continue to work on things every evening until its done. Where can I get the stiff material for the COD that prevents deformation during use?

I started the soft armor build last night. Bund is done minus the rear Velcro. Cod is cut and sewn, just need the right filler. And started ripping the seams on the racing suit. Very happy with the progress so far. Later on this week I will fix and finish the bucket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Update. I worked on building the bucket yesterday. Got it done. This was my 1st time ever doing something like this. I am happy with how it came out. Where do I get foam for the inside? I found That the headband is not useable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

SC Armor - Anyone Got It?
d50erock replied to PeaceForEndor's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I just got my kit this past Monday. I was totally understanding when Jeff said he had supplier issues. I had no idea Jeff swapped to a 1 piece belt, great news to hear. I can't wait to start working on this for sure. I'll be home from a business trip in 5 days, too long lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
The Sc armor showed up at my door Monday, quick shipping. I have my gloves and hold out blaster. The headband and hardware kit arrived, as has the leather for the riding patches and but flap. All I need to do now is get back home from this damn business trip I am on and I can get started. I am going to call out from help at my local garrison for assistance for sure, as I would like to attempt to get this build done in 1 weekend, well 90% done in one weekend. My wife hasn't opened the box from SC to show me parts, she is torturing me........

I had started working on the boots back in August. just over a week ago I finally ordered my SC armor. YES!!!!!!!! I have also ordered and received Wampawear gloves and a racing suit. I have already trimmed the tag on the one glove that the tag was hanging out all the time, as well as the plastic clips and little leather pieces. For the racing suit I picked it up off of Ebay and have removed the 1 patch on the left arm and the shoulder straps that were on top. Next is ordering the Suede and getting that attached. I am going to rip the leg seam and machine sew the patches in place. Photos and advise will be posted as needed. Yesterday I placed my order with HFX for a new mold blaster. My ultimate goal is to build a Lancer level Armor, or at least make that my target with this build.

I finally placed my order for SC armor. This has been in the works for a few years and delay after delay. I had started the boots over the summer but everything stalled pending armor. I had also ordered wampawear gloves earlier in the week. I hope to have the build complete before Celebration as my family and I are going, but SC's website says it will take 4 weeks, and then shipping on top of that. Do I need to just accept I won't have this built in time for Celebration? I was hoping to have 501st approval prior but now I am not sure if it will be done in time for Celebration.

Yesterday I noticed one of our members makes scaled down versions of scout armor for kids. I think the idea of me and my son both in scout trooper costumes would be awesome. I will have to get my armor done 1st though. The family and I are all headd down to Star Wars Celebration next April in Orlando. My goal is to have quality costumes for most of the kids and my Scout armor completed and 501st approved far before that. Back to boots, I am taking the weekend off. Will work on the other boot next week. Hopefully by next weekend I can start the vinyl process. Going to print out the knee template to get the boot height set right.

Sorry to dig up an older thread. I went to Legoland in Florida back in Oct 2014 and those full sized lego figures of our beloved leader and Darth Maul were "impressive, very impressive".

Thanks Peter. It was time consuming but I am happy with the outcome. Not perfect by any means but I am happy. I have to work on the other boot now, but that should be faster since I have the technique figured out.

Some pictures of the real costume shows some sorta line, but others don't. I am not sure what is right. I figured I would make them with the line and see if Lancers would let me know if that is correct or if they need to be cut out without that line. Lancers what are your thoughts?

I used the lace from the boot to make the horizontal line and held it in place with 2 tacks. I then used tape to make the outline on each side of the lace. Then pulled off the lace and traced the tape with a pencil. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok got 1 boot all cut up. Took 2 hours to do and cut my self just once. Going to need to clean it up and fill in a few cut outs at the back of the boot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I cut out 1 notch so far. LOL. Just wanted to get a feel of what kind of work is involved when working the soles. of course today I noticed that there is in fact a small horizontal rib that runs along the front part of the boot. How important is it that the front rib is there? As for the back horizontal rib I have already planned for that one. My goal is to make the boot Lancer approval level. Do it once, do it right.

The boots will be the 1st piece I build for my Scout Trooper uniform. Here is what I am starting off with.
